Overview

We are looking for a Learner Success Coach to support a group of learners through our 15-month Data Academy Apprenticeship. You would be working with professionals in some of the biggest companies in the UK and around the world, helping them to future-proof their careers as they develop the skills of a data analyst alongside their work.

As a Learner Success Coach, you’ll be coaching learners as they develop technical data analytics and transferable communication skills. You’ll support them through a variety of interactions, including monthly workshops led by field experts, monthly Hackathons where learners collaborate to test out new techniques, and regular 1-on-1 sessions where you help apprentices to identify opportunities to apply data analysis techniques to their day-to-day job and reflect on their progress.

You will take responsibility for supporting your learners to remain on target for a timely completion. You will work with quality & compliance to ensure learner compliance throughout the learning programme. Learner outcomes include implementing the data analytics lifecycle, managing stakeholder requests for analysis, producing reports and dashboards as well as implementing advanced algorithms in the data modelling phase.

What you’ll be doing

You will manage a caseload of learners, supporting the negotiation of their learning needs in the workplace in a tailored and individual way to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours. Working with teachers and learning services to provide appropriate support to enable success.

The team

The Learner Success team sits within our Apprenticeship department, meaning learners benefit from a wide range of expertise, including Mathematics/Computer Teachers and or Tutors (be it primary, secondary or tertiary Education), Data professionals, PhD Graduates and more. This role is a great fit for those who are looking to pivot from traditional classroom learning environments to an online, virtual coaching setting, focusing on data skills.

REQUIREMENTS

Who are you?

• You have a basic understanding of data/data analysis and how it can be applied in the workplace

• You are obsessed with learning and teaching

• You have worked in an FE/apprenticeship provision and understand the learner journey

• You are familiar with the EIF framework and ESFA apprenticeship funding rules

• You are a strong communicator with the ability to inspire and motivate others

• You are confident, empathetic and passionate about working with others

• You are highly organised and motivated

• You are passionate about creating a social impact

Your interview process

1. Phone call: you will speak to our people team and be asked a series of questions in relation to your background and experience, and will be given an insight into Decoded and the Learner Success role.

2. Knowledge Assessment: you will complete a task which is designed to assess your current knowledge of tools, techniques and concepts in data analysis and apprenticeship compliance.

3. Interview: you will be invited to a Google Hangouts call involving a presentation on the above knowledge assessment, along with questions about your skills.
