Azure Cloud DevOps

Job Description:

The USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), Office of Technology (OIT)/Program Management Division (PMD) seeks a Junior DevOps professional to support the contract mission of providing platform migration support services for 11 FNS websites and a mobile application from the current USDA hosted platform and services platform to an Azure cloud-based environment.

Duties/ Responsibilities 

  • Working directly with Architects and Developers to assist with setup of Azure Cloud environments and configuration of Azure Cloud services

  • Configuring deployment pipelines and supporting CDCI deployments

  • Supporting MySQL and static file data backups and restorations

  • Configuring SAML

  • Conducting primary troubleshooting on issues following services deployments, prioritizing issues, and assessing impact of issues

  • Assisting with configuring Azure Cloud security improvements

  • Performing problem-solving tasks when alerted by a user or monitoring system

  • Assist with disaster recovery and failover procedure

  • Assist with updating network diagrams and documentation for the new environment

  • Assist with System Admin tasks such as communicating system changes with stakeholders and coordinating with account managers to facilitate user access to systems and update security permissions, and training or assisting users on navigating and the correct use of the Azure Cloud environment

  • Proactively seeking ways to improve performance and efficiency of solution 

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with Azure Cloud – experience with Microsoft Azure Government a plus

  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing cloud solutions

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail in a technical environment

  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle

  • Experience with scripting and automation tools

  • Motivated, proactive, with little need for direction from other team members 

  • Must be able to obtain a US Public Trust as a condition of employment (employer will file once offer is made prior to start date)

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with Agile

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Government

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience

  • Ability to obtain a public trust

Salary Range:

  • 110k - 115k per year
