Senior Backend Engineer – Python / Django / FastAPI / Odoo /

Fleek is developing a platform that empowers individuals to create, manage, and monetize AI Twins or characters. These AI entities can ideate, post, engage, and earn, similar to human influencers, while also accessing novel monetization avenues that would be highly appealing to existing human creators or celebrities. You will collaborate closely with our CTO to achieve our technical goals. Our small, agile, and fast-moving team offers a unique opportunity to learn a great deal in the exciting AI space while developing an innovative platform. 

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend systems using Django, Odoo, and FastAPI

• Design and implement RESTful APIs to integrate with frontends and third-party tools

• Optimize PostgreSQL databases with SQLAlchemy for performance and scalability

• Use Redis for caching and task queuing

• Apply asynchronous programming to improve responsiveness

• Integrate AI tools and LLMs to automate workflows and add smart features

• Collaborate across teams to gather requirements and ship clean, maintainable code

• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing systems

Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or similar (or equivalent experience)

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python

• Django and FastAPI for web applications

• Async programming (asyncio, async/await, etc.)

• RESTful API design and consumption

• PostgreSQL + SQLAlchemy

• Redis for caching and background jobs

• Experience with AI libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.)

• Hands-on with LLMs for coding, automation, or app enhancement

• Prompt engineering for image generation models like Stable Diffusion or DALL·E

• Familiar with Git, testing, CI/CD, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

Nice to Have

• Kubernetes and Terraform

• GraphQL experience

• Frontend skills (React, Vue.js)

• Open-source contributions or standout personal projects
