We are seeking a skilled Front-End Developer to be an early member of our development team. You’ll be joining a dynamic group of talented individuals at Giant Propeller and have a lot of opportunity to grow in this role. Collaborate on designing and implementing user-friendly interfaces for some of the emerging E-commerce brands and stay at the forefront of e-commerce trends. Join us in delivering an exceptional online shopping experience for our clients’ customers! 

Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with our design and full-stack development team to translate wireframes and mockups into interactive and responsive web pages 

• Develop and maintain the front-end codebase for Shopify and WooCommerce stores, ensuring high performance, speed, and usability 

• Implement best practices for SEO, web accessibility, and mobile responsiveness to enhance the website’s visibility and reach 

• Optimize website performance and loading times to provide a smooth and seamless shopping experience 

• Collaborate with our marketing, paid media, and design teams to create and optimize landing pages, promotional banners, and other web assets to drive sales and conversions

• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving website issues and customer-reported defects 

Requirements 

• At least 2 years of experience with: 

  • Writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. It is required to be up to date on the latest practices, including HTML5, CSS3, and ECMAScript 6 (minimum) 

  • Shopify or WordPress theme development 

• Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3 

• Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 guidelines and how to apply them to web design

• Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing, e.g. SASS and LESS 

• Solid understanding of Javascript, and some of its frameworks, including jQuery and React Understanding of UI/UX design principles, and the ability to work closely with designers

• Expertise in cross-browser compatibility issues, and ways to solve them

• Knowledgeable of e-commerce and marketing concepts, including payment gateways, products, collections, conversion rate optimization, SEO, paid marketing, etc.

• Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently, while working independently to propose creative solutions.

• Communication and teamwork: Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively collaborate with designers, marketers, project managers, and the rest of our cross-functional team. Must be fluent in English.
