Accounting Lead

We are seeking an Accounting Team Lead that takes people leadership and coaching seriously, knows how to build a cohesive team, and can partner with our Finance team. The Accounting Team Lead is responsible for directing accounting operations and treasury functions and will lead the team who are responsible for T&E, cash & treasury, and payroll.

What You Will Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations which may include T&E, cash transactions, payroll, and related journal entries.

  • Guide the accounting operations team with balancing workload and prioritization of tasks.

  • Complete cash functions, including cash positioning, reporting and forecasting, wire payments, fraud prevention, and bank account setup and maintenance.

  • Manage annual audits including financial, 401K, and worker's compensation for multiple entities.

  • Manage Payroll and 401k escalation inquiries from vendor partners and internal employees.

  • Ensure internal controls are in place and segregation of duties exists where necessary.

  • Create weekly cash reporting for leadership with insights into historical trends and forecasting enhancements. 

  • Maintain global corporate credit card program.

  • Manage global Travel & Expense program.

  • Partner with People Experience/HR to manage HRIS/ Payroll system setups and enhancements.

  • Serve as an escalation point for questions, guidance, problem-solving or troubleshooting issues that arise.

  • Leverage internal systems and information to constantly apply new strategies to improve processes without sacrificing the quality of results.

  • Participate in frequent 1x1 meetings with Accounting Operations Manager to review and discuss initiatives, team dynamics, and cross-functional issues that require attention.

  • Conduct frequent 1x1 meetings with direct reports to review and discuss workload, team dynamics, and identify knowledge gaps that require additional training.

  • Identify and implement training programs that will improve individual and team skills.

  • Ensure communication among the team regarding best practices that will drive efficiency, and performance, and will minimize duplicated efforts or issues.

  • Develop direct reports’ knowledge and skills that help them grow in their current role but also prepare them for future roles.

  • Anticipate staffing needs and participate in the interviewing and hiring process to secure, grow, and retain superior talent.

  • Prepare and present regular performance reviews for direct reports.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of accounting experience with 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.

  • You have the ability and drive to operate, organize, and reprioritize, as necessary, in a fast-paced business environment.

  • You’re extremely detail-oriented and are able to multitask to meet deadlines

  • You have strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

  • You possess the aptitude and flexibility to understand the informational requirements of the business as it changes.

  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • NetSuite experience a plus.
