About the Role

We're building a next-gen greeting card company and need funny people who can write short. If you've ever thought "I could write better than that" in the Hallmark aisle, prove it.

We need freelance comedy writers to develop hundreds of card concepts across occasions—birthdays, holidays, apologies, weird niche moments, everything in between. Ongoing, flexible hours.

Core Responsibilities

  • Write punchy, original card copy (front + inside) across tones: dry, absurd, heartfelt-but-funny, wholesome chaos

  • Pitch card concepts in batches (we move fast)

  • Use AI/LLM tools to accelerate research and ideation—you're driving, the AI is your weird assistant

Required Experience

  • You've done standup, sketch, improv, or written for comedy publications

  • You understand comedic timing in 10 words or less

  • You're comfortable using ChatGPT/Claude to riff faster, not write for you

  • You have samples or a link to something that made strangers laugh

Nice to Have

  • Original non-derivative concepts

  • Range across sweet AND savage tones
