Business Development Manager

Job Summary:

In support of our mission, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to develop a pipeline of leads, close deals, and manage sponsorships for Hello Alice with Fortune 1000 customers. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, proactive and entrepreneurial, ready to seek out opportunities and make a tangible impact within the small business ecosystem. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication skills and proven track record of closing deals.  You have a sharp understanding of the small business ecosystem, and enthusiasm about building an innovative, next-generation organization. This role will report into the VP of Business Development.

Hello Alice currently supports over 100 partners looking to reach, engage and support small businesses. Partners include FedEx, Comcast, Amazon, Verizon, Mastercard, PepsiCo, DoorDash, eBay, and JPMorgan Chase among many others across Social Impact, Corporate Responsibility initiatives and Marketing initiatives. Our partner offerings include grants administration, accelerator programming, targeted email marketing and events.

Role and Responsibilities:

Here’s what you’ll be working on day-to-day, but as a nimble organization that puts our small business community at the forefront, flexibility is key, and other responsibilities may arise.

  • Owning the entire sales process from outreach to close, working closely with the VP of Business Development to provide market intelligence and accurate forecasts for the business.

  • Crafting winning partner proposals that win business, grow revenue and are aligned with Hello Alice’s operational goals across both new business and annual partner program renewals.

  • Employing effective selling strategies to successfully position Hello Alice as a strategic partner to reach, engage and support small business owners.

  • Identifying decision-makers at companies that are positioned to partner with Hello Alice in supporting small business owners.

  • Building, nurturing, and maintaining a pipeline of prospective enterprise partners by identifying relevant marketing and impact initiatives committed to supporting minority and small business communities.

  • Collaborating on solutions and strategies with internal marketing and customer success teams across the full sales cycle.

  • Identifying and communicating market trends to strengthen Hello Alice value proposition and product offering for enterprise partners

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Proven success with consultative selling to enterprise companies

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the sales funnel and strategy for closing deals

  • Results-focused and goal-oriented

  • Experience selling grants administration, content, and event sponsorship programs

  • Proven ability to identify key stakeholders and develop strong relationships

  • Proven ability in managing complex sales cycles from start to finish with a track record of successful outcomes

  • Experience maintaining an accurate and timely customer, pipeline, and forecast data

  • Entrepreneurial, highly motivated, and ambitious

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with various CRM platforms

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $95,000-105,000 annually plus eligible commission. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
