As a  Senior Software Engineer - Fullstack at Iterable, you'll be responsible for the core product for the engineering of Iterable used by our growing customer base.  In this role, the focus is working on projects/efforts that have strategic value for the company while driving technical design and up-leveling the team. You will be working with the Journeys team that provides a seamless, personalized customer experience to send the right message to the right user at every touchpoint! You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of projects from initial engineering design and planning through development, deployment, and success in production. As a Fullstack senior engineer you will be focusing on technologies like Scala, Postgres, GraphQL, Redis, Kafka, ElasticSearch, React, Redux sagas, Typescript to help Iterable’s customers leverage user data and build innovative personalization.

How you will make a difference:

Delivering customer value and effectively prioritizing impact and value.
Own end-to-end of the product life cycle with a huge amount of autonomy.
Lead multi-person projects.
Architect and develop solutions to scale a complex platform that reaches millions of users.
Collaborate with frontend, backend, product, and design to conceptualize and build new product features.
Provide direction for your team and guide standards across the Engineering organization.
Improve Engineering processes, tooling, and efficiency.

We are looking for people who:

Relevant industry experience building production-ready, scalable web applications.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (ideally Scala and/or Java)
Extensive experience with Elasticsearch and/or other relevant technologies like Postgres.
Advanced knowledge of React/Redux.
Experience with JavaScript,  HTML and CSS
Experience with common JS libraries and modern build tools.
Ability to facilitate discussions within your team and cross-functionally.
A desire to be part of a values-driven Engineering team.
Passion for learning -- always improving yourself and the team around you.
You are a significant contributor to the code review process, offering suggestions for improvement, helping to enforce coding standards, identifying gaps in the coding standard, and updating accordingly.
Leverage code reviews, design discussions, and other engagements as an opportunity to level up your team.
Analyze and optimize backend application code for efficiency.

Bonus Points:  

Partner with product, design, and infrastructure teams to build, design, and enhance our applications and services.
Take ownership of your team’s commitments, assisting when needed and encouraging the team to meet their commitments.
Experience with large scale performance testing.

You are a leading voice during all Agile ceremonies, sharing knowledge, asking questions, identifying risks, cross-team dependencies, candidly challenging assumptions, and proposing new pathways forward.
Experience with AWS stack.
Experience with web applications, databases, distributed systems.

For candidates in Tier 1 cities, the base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $240,000
For candidates in Tier 2 cities, the base salary range for this position is $141,100 to $211,000
For candidates in Tier 3 cities, the base salary range for this position is $129,000 to $194,500

Within the range, individual pay is determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations. While we use our full salary ranges, we only consider offering a salary near the top of the range in situations where the candidate far exceeds the experience level and skills required for the role.

Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only. The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable), equity, plus a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and financial. In addition we offer perks such as generous stipends for health & fitness and learning & development, among others.
