
Graphic Design Artist
JOB TYPE:
The Graphic Design Artist is responsible for developing, modifying, and presenting original or customer-requested artwork for a variety of business needs. This includes creating custom illustrations and layouts using both digital and manual methods. The role involves collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to plan and refine creative materials that align with company and client standards. Artwork may be adapted from existing files or created from scratch, with occasional travel may be required to support field or customer-based planning sessions.
ABOUT YOU:
YOU WILL:
Manage. Maintain and update artwork assets, templates, and order details using digital systems; may include data entry, verification, and inventory tracking.
Develop. Create and prepare artwork, illustrations, and layouts for printed or digital materials, based on internal or customer specifications.
Advise. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to clarify design requirements, resolve issues, and ensure quality and consistency in final outputs.
Strengthen. Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to increase accuracy, efficiency, and overall workflow effectiveness.
Edit. Modify, typeset, and format designs to meet technical, size, and program specifications across various projects.
Typical/expected % of overnight travel. None to Minimal.
YOU HAVE:
Experience. Proven experience in graphic design and illustration. Background in art for specialty markets (e.g., jewelry illustration) is a plus.
Education. Associate’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Fine Arts, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Technical Skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Strong working knowledge of both Mac and PC platforms. Familiarity with the printing process and file preparation standards. Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Preferred experience with additional software such as PageMaker, QuarkXPress, CorelDraw, or Freehand.
Agility. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Great Communication Skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
