🧑🏻💻 About the role
First things first: you want to know what you’re actually applying for. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distil it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:
We’re looking for a People Operations Specialist, who will manage employee lifecycle, Mewser’s queries and you will maintain good quality data. You will be responsible for the People processes to be both compliant & Mewser friendly. You will support different People programs and be part of improvement & innovation projects as Mews People team constantly evolves.
You won't find HR at Mews; we believe our people are much more than human resources. Mewsers are people and People Team’s vision is to nurture a culture where we unlock the potential of them and where every Mewser can make an impact.
✅ Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
Employee Lifecycle: Once a candidate accepts a Mews offer, you will take over from the recruiters and guide future New Hires through their onboarding journey. This includes collecting necessary data and information, assisting with contract creation, and managing internal enrollments. Throughout their employment at Mews, you will serve as the first point of contact for any employment-related queries and will be responsible for executing any necessary changes to employment contracts. If a Mewser decides to pursue opportunities outside of Mews, you will support them through the offboarding process.
People Team Service Management: You will be a key point of contact for all Mewsers, addressing inquiries and helping to interpret Mews policies, guidelines, and local labor laws. Additionally, you will prepare documents for employees or relevant institutions as needed.
People Team Programs Delivery Support: You will assist your People Team colleagues with communication, execution, and follow-up activities related to People Team projects and programs.
Data Integrity: This role requires a strong focus on data accuracy and analysis to support key decision-making. As a member of the People Operations team, you will provide coverage and support as needed while receiving guidance and escalation support from the extended People Team.
Policies and Processes: You will be responsible for updating and maintaining employee guidelines, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with legal and governmental regulations.
Ad Hoc Exciting Projects: Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Communication with Other Departments and External Providers: Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers (such as benefits and medical providers), ensuring that all relevant platforms are updated with new hire and leaver information.
Payroll Input on a Monthly Basis: Prepare and validate monthly payroll inputs, ensuring that all system data is accurate and reflects any applicable changes. Work closely with the Payroll department and maintain regular communication with the payroll provider.
🤝️ You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
Experience with Employee Lifecycle management (on-boarding, employee data changes, payroll data collection, contract creation, benefits administration, off-boarding, immigration)
Solid understanding of labor law legislations (EU legislation preferred) and it’s interpretation within company culture
Experience with data management across HRIS platforms
Basic project Management understanding
Fluent English and local language is advantage
💬 Communication
Complicated matters are consistently explained clearly, and your written communication is concise and accurate. You document not only the narrow projects you are working on but also larger initiatives, making sure the right people have the right context. You explain technical concepts in a way that can be easily understood, and with patience. You anticipate others' needs for information. Understanding is checked and information re-presented or restructured to correct any misunderstandings or mistakes. Your presence makes meetings more productive. You are adept at giving and receiving constructive feedback and you both give and receive feedback clearly and with empathy. You're an attentive and empathetic listener, ensuring that everyone you're working with gets a chance to share their thoughts and that they're heard. Able to focus on values rather than feelings, separating the facts from the emotion.
✨Ethics & integrity
You reinforce legal principles, agreed processes and difficult decisions that align with the organization's strategy and values. You make decisions responsibly by considering different ethical perspectives, and finding the best possible way forward for all stakeholders. Challenges decisions and actions which are not ethical, explaining the organizational risks. Encourages transparency in decision-making and communication where possible. Visibly and consistently role-models professional principles, values and personal integrity to build trust.
💡 Problem Solving
You break down complex problems into smaller, more manageable ones, and help others to do the same. You are adept at making decisions that involve a significant number of factors and have broad implications. You logically use data to weigh risk against benefit to take appropriate action. You consistently make well-judged decisions by considering all available evidence in the context of the specific situation. You are guided by your experience to identify and solve issues with ease. Your excellent planning has shown to reduce failure scenarios and identify edge cases early on. You can evaluate alternative solutions and assess resources available to provide the most effective solution. You reflect on solutions you have created, measure their impact, and use that information to optimise future work. You maintain objectivity during critical evaluation processes.
🤝Relationship Management
You build collaborative relationships across organizational boundaries, cultures and departments. You ensure the right people are involved at the right time, navigating internal politics with skill. You explore and can interpret a diverse range of perspectives and views. You sell your own ideas by highlighting the benefits to other people’s needs, values, goals or ideas. You facilitate connections and joint working across teams, disciplines and functions. Proactively shares knowledge, experience and expertise to co-create solutions across boundaries. You consider potential reactions and pre-empt any potential sources of conflict and resistance to inform how and when you communicate your ideas. You tailor your influencing style and select appropriate communication channels to engage your audience and gain buy-in.
🚚 Drive to deliver
You are able to collaboratively and realistically plan bigger projects of your team in terms of time, effort and risk and ensure your team can hit deadlines. You communicate with teammates, collaborators, and stakeholders, and you take responsibility for your plans, both when they're on track and when they aren't. You use an array of tests, analysis, and ad-hoc solutions to ensure quality and production readiness of your work and reporting. You monitor the health of your work and that of adjacent systems to avoid surprises. You surface and understand how multiple large projects - worked on by you and others - intersect and ensure minimal friction in their delivery. You anticipate deviations from standard practices and find practical ways to move forward.

What began in a single hotel in Prague now powers thousands of hotels around the world, as they pursue their mission to develop transformational solutions for brands and create remarkable experiences for guests.
Since the beginning, Mews embraced being different. Mews is not simply a property management system, but a connected hospitality cloud with products across the hotel ecosystem and more integrations than anyone else.
From global hospitality brands to independent properties, hoteliers join Mews because they recognize the power of innovation. They understand that they can benefit from hotel tech that drives efficiency, maximizes revenue, and improves guest happiness.
Powering over 5,000 customers across more than 85 countries, Mews Hospitality Cloud is designed to streamline operations for modern hoteliers, transform the guest experience and create more profitable businesses.
Ranked 24th in the FT 1000 list of the fastest-growing European companies in 2021, Mews has been recognized as the Best PMS by industry peers at the HotelTechAwards in both 2020 and 2024, consistently earning acclaim. Mews also achieved finalist status in 2021 and 2022. What's more, we take immense pride in being listed among the Best Places to Work in Hotel Tech during those same years and again this year. 💭 Life at Mews
That’s what we do, but what about who we are? Mews’ culture is special and difficult to capture in words, which makes writing this tricky. You'll experience the freedom to be yourself and the ability to watch your ideas come to life. You’ll have an open line of communication and an open invitation to after-work drinks, be they virtual or in-person. Sometimes the work can be challenging and there can be a lot of it, but you’ll always be able to rely on those around you.
Yes, we’re ambitious and we move fast, but we know the value of fun and taking a breather. Every month we have a Wellness Wednesday, a day off that you can use to boost your health, whether that’s a long lie-in, a trip to the gym, or anything in between. We have slack channels for almost every interest imaginable, and an all-company meeting every Friday gives you the chance to ask any question to our leadership team.
