About this Role

You own the final quality, clarity, accuracy, and trust in all written content acting as the last gatekeeper before it goes live. You ensure it feels human, helpful, and tailored to real expats (not just accountants or lawyers).

Ideally, you have technical experience writing about US taxes (e.g., IRS rules, compliance guides) to tackle semi-technical topics quickly. Must-have: strong SEO research and analysis skills to shape briefs and align content with expat search intent, without keyword stuffing or sacrificing accuracy.

Core Responsibilities

1. Content Quality Control
   Own polish and consistency across:

   • Blog posts

   • FAQs

   • LinkedIn repurposes

   • All educational written assets

2. Make sure every piece hits:

   • Clear, relatable language (written for expats juggling life abroad)

   • Logical structure and clean formatting

   • Helpful, non-salesy tone (no hype, no scary legal jargon)

   • Brand voice consistency (empathetic, trustworthy, straightforward)

3. Enforce our Acceptance Checklist:

   • Strong hook that grabs attention

   • Clear outline and flow

   • Solid CTA

   • Citations from IRS/Treasury/official sources where needed

   • “What this means for you” section

   • Real-life examples (e.g., “Like Maria in Dubai who…”)

4. Blog Writing
   Write and deliver 8+ high-quality blog posts per month.
   They need to be:

   • Engaging and readable

   • Deeply educational

   • Trust-building (backed by facts, no overpromises)

   • Natural (not stuffed with keywords)

5. You'll handle semi-technical topics with a compliance-first mindset, always citing authoritative sources (IRS regs, Treasury guidance) and steering clear of anything that could mislead.

6. Design Content Briefs
   Build clear, actionable briefs that set writers up for success, including:

   • Target search intent

   • Key questions to answer

   • Required internal links

   • Real-life example guidelines

   • Compliance red flags to avoid

   • SEO direction from superior (keywords, structure)

   • Input from marketing advisory and the Scriptwriter role

Required Skills

• Sharp editing and rewriting skills

• Strong blog writing experience

• Proven comfort with compliance-heavy content (finance, legal, tax, or healthcare ideal)

• Accurate source citing and research habits

• Talent for breaking down complex topics into clear, human explanations

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience in trust-based industries

• Familiarity with Notion or similar for tracking briefs/reviews

Salary

We're looking for an awesome SEO writer with at least 3 years of serious SEO work. The salary range is $1,500 to $3,000 depending on experience. Performance bonuses based on outcomes. Performance bonuses based on outcomes.
