Treasury Manager
About Paybis
Paybis is a global cryptocurrency exchange and fiat on/off-ramp. Money moves daily across dozens of bank accounts, payment providers, exchange venues and wallets, in several currencies and jurisdictions. Treasury makes sure it is in theright place, in the right amount, at the right time — and that we can prove it to an auditor or a regulator.
The role
We are looking for a hands-on Treasury Manager to own our operational payments and give Finance a clear, regular view of where our cash and crypto sit and how they move. You will work closely with our Finance leadership, and help redesign invoice payment process so that it runs smoothly.
This is an individual-contributor role with real ownership, in a growing licensed business where treasury processes are still being built.
What you'll do
- Invoice and outbound payments. Own the supplier, partner and affiliate payment cycle end to end: validation, approval routing, FX, release across banks and EMIs. Enforce beneficiary verification and dual authorisation; resolvereturns and stuck payments. Includes fees that accrue in crypto but settle in fiat.
- End-of-day balance management. Produce and sign off the daily cash and crypto position across bank, PSP,exchange and custody accounts. Clear or escalate every variance the same day. Maintain safeguarding andsegregation discipline, with a daily record that stands up to review.
- Liquidity. Forecast short-dated needs, pre-fund settlement and trading accounts, execute sweeps, and managestablecoin and hot/cold float in line with policy. Track counterparty and concentration exposure.
- Regulatory and reporting. Prepare and file recurring returns for our licensed entities to fixed calendars. Supportsafeguarding, own-funds and liquidity obligations across the EU (MiCA/CASP), UK and US. Build the treasury evidencepack for audit and regulator requests.
- Controls. Maintain treasury policies, authority matrices and SOPs.
- Improvement. Move reporting and reconciliation off spreadsheets, with Finance Systems and Engineering.
What you bring
- 3–5 years in treasury or payment operations, ideally at a crypto exchange, on/off-ramp, custodian, EMI, PSP or a bank serving digital-asset clients.
- Hands-on payment execution: approval workflows, banking portals, payment file formats and segregation of duties. You have released payments yourself, not only reported on them.
- Real crypto operations experience: exchange and custody accounts, stablecoin settlement, hot/cold wallet operations, on-chain verification, and the practical differences between networks (fees, finality, memo/tag, stuck transactions).
- Experience running regular payment runs and balance reporting, and reconciling balances in a multi-currency, multi-account environment, including the breaks.
- Work in a regulated environment: regulatory reporting, safeguarding or client-money rules, audit and regulator requests.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets; SQL is a significant plus.
- Fluent English.
- Precision under cut-off pressure, and discretion: this role sees full balances and full flows.
Nice to have
- Hands-on PSD2 or EMI safeguarding reconciliation, including the UK safeguarding regime
- MiCA/CASP crypto-asset segregation and reporting
- Experience redesigning a payment or approval process together with accounting
- Building cash flow reports and dashboards; SQL beyond the basics
- Fireblocks or a similar custody/MPC platform
- A treasury certification such as ACT or CTP, or the wish to get one
Your first year
- By month 3: you know how money moves at Paybis. You have mapped every bank, acquirer and exchange, know where each piece of data comes from, and have the access you need to build cash flow reporting.
- By month 6: cash flow reports are running, and you have fully taken over operational payments, including salaries. You can cover payments independently.
- By month 12: a signed-off cash flow report with analytics goes out weekly or at least three times a month. Safeguarding reconciliations run daily for our e-money entities. The new invoice payment process is live, with accountants checking invoices before payment and no dependency on a single approver.
What we offer
- Real scope: fiat and crypto, several jurisdictions and genuine regulatory weight, not a slice of a large corporate process
- A chance to build: redesign the payment process and set up cash flow reporting from the ground up
- Direct access to the Finance leadership
- Hybrid work from our Riga office, or remote
- Self-funded, stable company without investor pressure
- Competitive salary plus performance bonus
- Certification budget, health insurance and paid leave
- Medical insurance, L&D budget, English classes, regular team-building activities
Interview process
- HR interview
- Interview with Hiring Managers
- Reference check
