SEO Team Lead & Account Manager

Own the strategy. Own the relationship. Own the results.

Most SEO roles hand you a slice of the work. This one hands you the whole story: the strategy behind a portfolio of clients, the team that brings it to life, and the client relationships that make it all worth it. If you've ever wanted to be both the brain behind the plan and the trusted face clients rely on, keep reading.

About Lexigate

Lexigate is a specialized SEO agency that helps growth-focused businesses win their markets through sharp strategy, technical excellence, and relationships clients actually enjoy. We're fully remote, roughly 30 people strong, and spread across multiple countries. We run on clear processes, genuine ownership, and five core values we take seriously: Team Player, Lead with Optimism, Get it Done Well, Focused on Value & Results, and Always Adapting & Growing.

The Role in One Line

You lead SEO strategy for a portfolio of client accounts, direct the team that executes it, and own the client relationships from kickoff to every monthly call.

What Your Days Look Like

You set the strategy

  • Build SEO roadmaps that tie directly to what clients care about: traffic, conversions, and leads

  • Spot quick wins, competitive gaps, and upsell opportunities before anyone asks

  • Bring new AI optimization ideas into strategy, reporting, and workflows

  • Keep every strategy sharp as algorithms and markets shift

You lead the team

  • Plan monthly work in Asana with enough detail that the implementation team can run with it

  • Own quality control so every deliverable is fully client-facing and meets Lexigate standards

  • Train the team, create new deliverables, and keep the sprint board and scorecard current for the weekly L10

You own the client relationship

  • Be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of direct clients

  • Lead the monthly client calls, set the agenda, and send the follow-ups that keep everyone aligned

  • Chase approvals so the team is never blocked, and turn inbound requests into clean action items

  • Watch account health, manage expectations proactively, and flag risks early

  • Run the client-facing side of onboarding: introductions, expectation setting, access, and kickoff

Who Thrives Here

  • You have real SEO experience and understand strategy, technical SEO, content, and link building

  • You've managed client relationships and you're comfortable being the person clients trust

  • You're organized to a fault: clean workflows, on-time tasks, clear priorities

  • Your attention to detail is the kind that catches what everyone else missed

  • You explain SEO in plain language that makes clients feel confident, not confused

  • You stay calm under pressure, stay solution-oriented, and know when to ask for help

  • You take feedback well, act on it fast, and bring ideas without waiting to be asked

Nice to Have

  • Agency experience, or local SEO chops (GBP, LSA, multi-location)

  • Comfort with Asana, GA4, GSC, and the usual SEO tooling

  • Some team leadership or mentoring under your belt

The Details

  • Pay: $70,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience

  • Time off: 21 vacation days, national holidays, and 7 sick days

  • Arrangement: Independent contractor, ongoing (no fixed end date)

  • Location: Fully remote, work from anywhere

Why You'll Like It Here

You get real ownership of a client portfolio and a team, not a narrow lane. You get to shape strategy, not just execute it. And you get a supportive, optimistic culture with clear processes and plenty of room to grow.

How to Apply
