What’s the role?
We are looking for a versatile HR Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. You will be a key partner in our people operations, blending full-cycle recruiting management with core HR functions. You will be responsible for optimizing the candidate lifecycle, managing onboarding, and ensuring our HR compliance remains airtight during a period of rapid growth. You’ll refine people processes and serve as a trusted resource for both employees and hiring managers. This is a 6-month contract role (20-30 hours/week) with potential for extension, ideal for a mid-level professional who thrives in a high-autonomy, startup environment.
What will you be doing?
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for North American roles, including sourcing, initial screening, and advising hiring managers on best practices.
Evaluate and improve existing recruiting workflows and ATS structures to increase hiring velocity and candidate satisfaction.
Maintain high data accuracy across digital employee files, HRIS, and ATS, serving as the primary point of contact for data entries and system updates.
Lead the onboarding lifecycle, including I-9 verification, background check adjudication, and maintaining digital employee files in compliance with state and federal laws.
Work with the wider People Team to develop standardized workflows and processes into a unified operational model.
Who are you?
You have 3-5 years of experience in an HR or People Ops role and full-cycle recruitment experience.
Advanced Proficiency with HRIS and ATS platforms (e.g., Lever, Greenhouse, BambooHR, etc.) and the ability to troubleshoot technical workflows within them.
Foundational Knowledge of HR Law: Solid understanding of EEO, FLSA, and I-9 compliance requirements.
Strategic Communication: Ability to communicate with executive-level stakeholders and handle sensitive employee information with extreme discretion.
Proactive Problem-Solving: A track record of identifying "broken" processes and implementing scalable solutions.
Operational Independence: High level of comfort working autonomously in a remote, fast-paced environment.
