Technical Product Manager

At ruumi we build grassland and grazing management tools to help livestock farmers manage their land sustainably. And, our five year programme finances them to transition to more sustainable practices through a very high quality carbon credit scheme.

Our suite of digital tools include a web app, and native mobile apps on iOS and Android so farmers can get insights even when out in the field. In addition, we provide a portal for stakeholders to track the progress on their investment, making sure it has a positive impact across our farm portfolios.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a technical product manager to deliver both farmer and stakeholder tools, improve product market fit and make a measurable impact on our business.

You will be supported by ruumi’s CPO, collaborating on the company’s future vision and ensuring seamless integration with the wider business ecosystem.

We are a remote-first company with folks based in Berlin, Denmark, Spain, and the UK. Ideally you'd be located in a timezone +-4h allowing for somewhat overlapping working hours. We are at an early stage and do not believe we can fully support folks on the opposite side of the globe for now.

What you'll be doing

The following gives an overview of high-level responsibilities we want you to take on.

  • Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders to ensure alignment around product vision.

  • Manage the product roadmap

  • Write, structure and prioritise development tickets with our wonderful engineering team

  • Ensure that ruumi stays differentiated from competitor products

  • Analyse product and commercial metrics to understand where to affect change.

  • Continuously prototype and test new features.

  • Ensure frequent user testing is executed to a high standard

What we're looking for

The following gives an overview of qualifications we think could be helpful.

You don't have to tick all the boxes, though.

  • Previous experience working as a digital product manager (essential)

  • Evidence of delivering software that meets commercial objectives

  • Worked with stakeholders across multiple teams to deliver product value.

  • You’ve made agile work in practice, incorporating regular user testing

  • Have managed relatively complex technical products; for example marketplaces or products with machine learning.

  • You have experience working in a remote company/setup

Nice to have

  • You have experience coding and are well versed with the engineering effort required to deliver different feature types.

Because we are an early stage company, we believe we'll need someone who can work self-sufficiently and is comfortable with a degree of ambiguity.

About us

At ruumi we work with farmers and companies to create the conditions for a better future.

We’ve spent the last two years listening to farmers - an experience we wouldn’t swap for anything. As a result, we feel deeply optimistic about the possibility of restoring a healthy balance between mankind and nature. By putting the real-world needs of farmers first – and by being open and honest about what we can and can't do – we believe we can make a difference.

This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a purpose-led early stage startup. You'll have the opportunity to build your ideas, see the impact quickly and watch a business (and grass) grow.

Company benefits:

lush vacations days for you to re-charge and stay on top of your mental health; the best remote working equipment and a co-working space budget to support you day-to-day; quarterly off-sites to get together as a small company.

Want to learn more? Soils are depleted in both developed and less developed countries. The nutrient and water cycle are at stake. Disruptive weather patterns are making it increasingly difficult for farmers to forecast and deliver their desired output.

When we replenish soils, increase biodiversity, and improve the nutrient and water cycle, the planet can absorb carbon into the ground and help farmers to sustain their business more effectively. Here are a few more resources we like.
