PPC Consultant
About SearchLab
At SearchLab, we believe great marketing starts with putting clients first.
Everything we do is rooted in helping businesses grow, solving real problems, and creating long-term partnerships built on trust, transparency, and results.
Over the last decade, we’ve built a reputation for delivering high-quality SEO, PPC, Local Search, and Analytics solutions for multi-location brands, dealerships, law firms, healthcare organizations, and businesses across North America.
As we continue to grow, we’re evolving how we serve clients.
We’re transitioning from a traditional generalist model to a specialist model where channel experts focus on execution and strategy, while Customer Success focuses on what matters most: helping clients achieve their business goals.
That’s where you come in.
About the Role
This is not a client-facing role. This is not a generalist marketing role.
We’re building a modern specialist model with three clear lanes: Customer Success owns the client relationship, PPC Team Leads own overarching campaign strategy and direction, and PPC Consultants own execution and account-level strategic thinking: the day-to-day craft that brings strategy to life, along with the forward-looking insight that shapes it.
As a PPC Consultant, you’ll execute PPC campaigns with precision and consistency across an assigned client portfolio on Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Facebook Ads. You’ll deliver sustained performance improvements through campaign optimization, keyword strategy, ad copy, bidding, and targeting. While your PPC Team Lead sets the broader strategic direction and playbooks, you’re expected to think strategically within your own accounts, anticipate what’s next, and proactively surface opportunities rather than wait for direction.
You won’t set channel-wide strategy and you won’t own client communication, your Team Lead sets the overall direction and your CSM owns the relationship. But you own more than execution: you own the strategic health of the accounts in your portfolio, disciplined and high-quality execution, sharp optimization, and the research and performance insight that both inform the strategy above you and drive smart decisions within your own accounts.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to go deep on the craft of paid media without the overhead of account management, who takes pride in consistent, high-quality execution, and who brings a strategic, think-ahead mindset to the accounts they own.
What You’ll Own
PPC Strategy Execution
Execute the PPC strategy for each assigned account in partnership with the PPC Team Lead: the Team Lead sets the overall direction, and you own the day-to-day campaign management, optimizations, and account-level strategic decisions that bring the strategy to life and move it forward
Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to inform strategic direction, proactively surfacing findings and recommendations to the Team Lead, and acting on them within your accounts where they align with established playbooks and account goals
Maintain and execute campaign roadmaps for each assigned account, thinking ahead to anticipate what each account needs next, while flagging blockers, budget pacing concerns, or scope questions to the Team Lead promptly
Apply SearchLab’s standardized PPC playbooks consistently across all work: campaign setup, keyword strategy, bidding approaches, ad copy standards, and optimization cadences
Campaign Optimization and Management
Monitor assigned account performance daily and implement optimizations to improve campaign effectiveness and client ROI
Continuously refine ad copy, keyword strategies, bidding approaches, and targeting parameters to drive improved performance
Implement platform best practices and emerging techniques across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Facebook Ads
Manage budget pacing across assigned accounts, flagging significant variance or risk to the Team Lead promptly
Performance Monitoring and Reporting Inputs
Track and analyze campaign performance metrics using Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio, and other relevant tools
Provide accurate, timely performance data and campaign summaries to support Analytics-led reporting and CSM-led client strategy calls
Flag meaningful performance shifts, anomalies, budget pacing issues, or emerging opportunities to the Team Lead as they surface, not on a fixed cadence
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with internal teams to identify and resolve conversion tracking issues, technical problems, and performance discrepancies
Coordinate with the Analytics team on tracking accuracy, tagging, and data integrity across assigned accounts
Collaborate with the Team Lead and CSM to ensure campaign execution aligns with client goals and upcoming communications
Professional Development and Certifications
Maintain current Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising certifications; pursue additional relevant certifications as directed
Stay informed about platform updates, industry trends, and best practices in paid digital advertising
Participate in weekly L10s, biweekly Monday Mastery’s, and monthly all-hands meetings
Continuously develop skills through training, SearchLab playbook fluency, and industry resources
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role isn’t measured by client-facing conversations. It’s measured by the consistency, quality, and reliability of your execution, and by the strategic insight you and your Team Lead bring to the accounts you own.
Campaign tasks and optimizations are completed on time, within committed cycle time
Rework is rare: deliverables meet quality standards the first time
Work consistently follows documented PPC playbook standards
Billable utilization stays within target range
Certifications stay current across all required platforms
Your Team Lead can rely on your research, performance data, and optimization observations, and on your account-level strategic judgment, to shape and advance strategy across your portfolio”
What We’re Looking For
3 years hands-on experience managing PPC campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Facebook Ads, agency experience preferred
Current Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising certifications, or the ability to obtain them quickly
Strong analytical skills, comfortable turning campaign and keyword data into clear findings and recommendations
Working knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio, or comparable reporting tools
Highly organized, with strong follow-through on daily account monitoring, campaign roadmaps, and budget pacing
Comfortable working within a defined playbook and overall direction while thinking strategically within your own accounts and surfacing opportunities proactively
Naturally curious about platform updates, industry trends, and new optimization techniques
Clear, proactive communicator, especially when flagging blockers, risks, or opportunities to your Team Lead
Why SearchLab
We’re building something meaningful.
As part of SearchLab’s shift to a specialist model, PPC execution is becoming a dedicated craft function. As a PPC Consultant, you’ll go deep on the technical work, campaign setup, optimization, keyword strategy, and account-level strategic thinking, without the overhead of account management, while your Team Lead sets overall direction and your CSM owns the client relationship.
You’ll work alongside a team of channel experts and leaders who care deeply about quality execution, value technical excellence, and are committed to building a culture where great people can do their best work.
If you’re looking for a role where you can sharpen your craft, execute at a high standard every day, and grow your expertise in paid media, we’d love to meet you.
