Marketing Frontend Engineer (Remote - Worldwide)
As a Marketing Frontend Engineer at Uptime.com, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance, conversion-focused marketing websites that are crucial to our Product-Led Growth (PLG) strategy. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on our customer acquisition efforts by creating engaging, fast-loading pages that drive user engagement and conversions at scale.
In this role, you’ll leverage your deep expertise in SaaS conversion optimization and your ability to move at startup speed. Collaborating closely with our marketing, growth, product, and design teams, you will ensure that our web properties are not just functional, but also strategically aligned with our growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build and Optimize: Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive, high-performing, SEO-optimized marketing websites from scratch using modern frontend technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, React, Pelican, Python, etc.).
• Conversion-Focused Development: Implement growth-driven design principles to maximize user engagement and drive SaaS conversion optimization, aligning with our PLG strategy.
• Startup Speed: Operate with startup agility, rapidly iterating on web development to meet the fast-moving demands of a high-growth environment.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with UX designers, marketing leaders, engineering, and product teams to translate creative concepts and business goals into optimized, conversion-driven code.
• SEO Expertise: Implement SEO best practices, including structured data, metadata, and technical optimizations, to drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
• CRO & A/B Testing: Lead efforts in Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) by designing and implementing A/B tests and using data to continuously improve conversion rates.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure all websites are highly optimized for speed, scalability, and user experience, achieving top performance across all devices.
• PLG Alignment: Collaborate with the growth team to align web development efforts with PLG objectives, focusing on self-serve acquisition and SaaS conversion.
• Continuous Improvement: Use web analytics and insights to iterate and improve the performance and effectiveness of marketing sites, ensuring they meet key growth metrics.
• Stay Ahead: Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in frontend development, PLG strategies, SaaS marketing, and performance optimization.
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Frontend Engineer with a strong portfolio of highly optimized marketing websites, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth startup environment.
• Experience with Zendesk themes, templates, and custom configuration.
• Proficiency in Python. (strict requirement)
• Pelican experience is a plus, or familiarity with other static site generators.
• Ginja templates experience is a plus.
• Deep understanding of PLG strategies and SaaS conversion optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in modern frontend development technologies and frameworks, with a focus on creating fast, responsive, and scalable web pages.
• Expertise in SEO best practices and technical optimizations for driving organic growth.
• Experience with A/B testing, CRO tools, and data-driven web optimization.
• Ability to work at startup speed, with a strong focus on delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Posthog, SEMrush) and experience turning insights into actionable improvements.
• Strong problem-solving skills, a growth mindset, and a passion for creating high-impact web experiences.
