Lead Front-End Developer

This role is strategic for Zeely’s technical growth. You will own the front-end architecture, make key technical decisions, mentor the team, and drive the quality and speed of product delivery. As an engineering leader, you'll be a driving force behind changes that directly shape the experience of hundreds of thousands of users.

Zeely AI is a platform that uses artificial intelligence to generate viral UGC videos and promotional banners, and to launch high-performing ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram — helping small businesses grow and get noticed.

Tech stack:

• Frontend: React, TypeScript

• Backend: NestJS, TypeScript, REST API

• Infrastructure: AWS (EC2, CloudFront, S3 as CDN), GitHub

What you’ll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain web apps using React and modern web technologies

• Manage the front-end team, create development plans, and mentor developers

• Ensure performance, stability, and optimization of both new and existing features

• Lead all stages of the SDLC — from concept to deployment

• Work in a continuous delivery environment

• Collaborate with designers and user researchers to ensure usability and intuitive UX

• Ensure high code quality, including writing and reviewing unit and other tests

• Own, justify, and implement key technical decisions

• Write and maintain technical documentation

• Lead and guide the code review process, maintaining high quality standards

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years as Lead Developer / Department Lead / Team Lead

• 6+ years hands-on experience in front-end development

• 4+ years of commercial React experience

• Experience with Redux Toolkit (including RTK Query)

• Experience with WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE)

• 1+ year experience working with AWS (S3, CloudFront, etc.)

• 1+ year of commercial experience integrating Stripe, Solidgate, or other payment systems

• Solid understanding of scalable and reliable system design

• Strong experience with Git and complex workflows

• Ability to think strategically and deliver in a fast-paced startup environment

• Clean, readable, and efficient code writing skills

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and leadership skills

Nice to have:

• Full-stack development experience

• 2+ years commercial experience with Next.js or Remix

• Valid AWS certification

• Experience with styled-components

• Experience with charts (e.g. React-chartjs, Echarts, Highcharts, etc.)

• English — Upper-Intermediate level

• Experience in the AdTech domain

• Experience with Mixpanel, Sentry, and other monitoring/analytics tools

• Experience with TanStack Query

• Experience working with both existing design systems and building new ones
