Senior Software Engineer (Identity & Onboarding)

Your Role:

Your role will be to extend and scale our onboarding features and make sure that our workflow meets the regulatory requirements. We are responsible for checking people’s KYC and personal details to filter out malicious users, doing ongoing AML checks and reporting user details to FINRA. We are aiming to support every person and business for every tradable asset.

The Engineering Team is 100% distributed and remote.  This role will be reporting directly to the Team Lead, Identity/Onboarding Engineering.

Things You Get To Do:

  • Design, implement and improve

    • User onboarding and regulatory workflows

    • User facing and internal communication processes (REST, GRPC, Streaming, Message Queues)

  • Create metrics and alerts (Grafana,Metabase)

  • Refactor and cleanup services

  • Adopt new technologies

  • Work closely with product and legal team

Who You Are (Must-Haves):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field

  • Solid backend experience

  • Have a good understanding on how to avoid, detect, handle and fix different errors

  • Thorough review habit

  • Accept and provide feedback

  • Can scope out of a specific issue and see the bigger picture

  • Understand priorities. Aim for quality over quantity unless it needs to meet a strict deadline

  • Polite and willing to communicate and document their thoughts.

Nice-to-Haves:  

  • Full stack and/or Infrastructure experience

  • Background in KYC or Financial sector

  • Golang expertise

  • Scripting language experiences

Our Stack:

  • Cloud native stack (mostly on GCP)

  • Unix, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Mostly GoLang, but Typescript + React knowledge is a plus

  • PostgreSQL, Redis, Mongo or other storages, depending on where you look

  • Monitoring with Grafana, Prometheus and Elastic

  • GitHub based version control, Slack, 1Password, JIRA / Confluence
