Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Rails & React)

Join a small team of sharp people who get along! We’re looking for a senior, action-oriented full-stack developer. You’ll work directly with the technical co-founder, have lots of autonomy, and a path to equity in a growing company.

We all left soul-crushing corporate jobs to build a company that would give us more freedom and let us work with high-quality people. It’s been going well! Now we’re in need of a third engineer who's eager to help us ramp things up.

What we do:

Referrals and repeat clients are the biggest sources of business for real estate agents, but maintaining contact with 100s of people takes a lot of time and energy. We make it easy. We use AI to scan past conversations and draft the right message at the right time, generating new deals for our customers.

Who we are:

We are a profitable, remote-first B2B SaaS co-founded by two old friends who have hitchhiked, cliff dived, and traveled the world together. We’ve raised a small amount of funding from TinySeed, but we’re mostly bootstrapped with no need to raise outside capital (although if growth explodes we may decide to).

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience with Ruby/Rails

  • Previous experience working with Javascript/React

  • English fluency, verbal and written

  • Previous startup experience

Advantages (not a must but a plus):

  • Experience with deploying production systems on Amazon Web Services (EC2, CloudFront, S3)

  • Experience with React Native

  • Experience scaling and improving performance of Rails applications

  • Experience with UX/UI design and prototyping

  • Experience using Minitest, Cypress and Sidekiq

What will I be doing?

We are a small team, so each new feature or enhancement is typically owned by one engineer. We believe in seeking customer feedback early and often, so that we can rapidly iterate and produce software that people really use and value.

  • Infrastructure to evaluate/improve AI model performance

  • Internal tooling to accelerate sales and customer onboarding

  • Data visualizations to show the results we’re driving

  • Mobile app version of our existing web app

Why is this great for me?

  • Opportunity to work on scaling a growing product

  • Your role and responsibility will grow as our company grows

  • Minimal meetings and bureaucracy

  • High degree of ownership and autonomy

  • Open-minded working culture where we encourage sharing ideas and opinions

  • Motivated co-workers

  • Company retreat 1-2 times per year to relax and think big

Application process

Ready to join us?

Here is also the outline of the whole application process, so you know what to expect:

  1. Fill in and submit the application form.

  2. If we think it’s a good fit, we’ll send a quick questionnaire to make sure you have a handle on the basic skills required.

  3. Several video interviews (between 15-60 minutes long) where we try to get to know you better and give you a chance to get to know us and a bit more about Dashfox, as well as assess if your technical skills are right for the role.

  4. Top candidates will be invited for a one-day paid contract work where you get to experience how we work and we get to see how you thrive under a busy day of work.

Compensation

The compensation range for this role is between $80,000 to $110,000 annually with health insurance for US-based candidates. Candidates outside the US, payment will be on a B2B contract and will be offered a healthcare stipend. The actual compensation offered to a successful candidate will be based on relative experience and skills.

Compensation includes three weeks of paid vacation and one week of paid sick leave, although this amount is negotiable based on country of residence.
