The role

Brainrider is looking for an experienced Motion Graphics and Video Editor Designer to join our team. You are known

for your ability to push creative solutions for global brands with a passion for motion/video. You enjoy diving into

creative tasks involving designing video templates, sourcing footage, and the production and delivery of video

editing. You’re passionate about design, technology, and staying on top of current trends, and you thrive in a

fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Execute creative briefs and partner requests consistently and diligently

  • Meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward

  • Produce illustrations and motion graphics that are engaging and reflect a cohesive brand illustration aesthetic

  • Edit and animate video and motion graphics.

  • Keep up-to-date with design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve design skills and output

  • Partner with creative team to develop visual identity platforms, systems, typography, palette, illustration, and iconography systems

  • Work with templates—existing or new—and scale various format videos and ensure brand consistency across all media and platforms

  • Perform basic preflight on files to ensure quality and consistency

  • Understand finishing to troubleshoot or spot potential quality concerns

  • Edit, version, and export files while following naming and filing conventions

What you'll bring

  • Video reel representing relevant production work (please include the link to your reel with your application) 

  • A diploma or degree from a post-secondary design or video production program (or equivalent)

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience with video production pipelines to version and scale to different formats

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition

  • Proficiency in After Effects, Premiere, and Creative Suite.

  • Basic knowledge of Figma is required

  • A passion for motion graphics and video production

  • Understanding of layout, typography, illustration, photography, and culture

  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Openness to giving and receiving feedback to better yourself as a designer and better the team overall

  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, multi-project environment

Bonus

  • Ability to operate camera equipment and basic lighting knowledge.

  • Experience animating characters (plugins such as DUIK, Rubber Hose, etc.)

  • Knowledge of 3D software (e.g., Blender or C4D)
