What You’ll Do
As the HR Manager in Brazil, you will be focused on taking care of our most important investment at Brex: our employees. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are approachable and solution-focused, and have a passion for and are excited about building great companies. You’ll be the trusted, HR advisor for all of Brex Brazil – utilizing your excellent business acumen and people judgment, not only will you build strong relationships with managers and employees, but you will be the sought-after advisor on best practices and labor requirements in Brazil. You’ll use your deep knowledge of Brazil labor laws and talent best practices to help us implement labor regulations in a way that meets regulatory requirements and keeps us competitive with the talent marketplace. You’ll help us reimagine what “excelente” looks like for our HR programs, policies, and procedures in Brex Brazil, and help elevate said programs to achieve that greatness. And just as importantly, you’ll be a trusted collaborator and partner to other Brex stakeholders such as your peers on the People Operations, People Partners, Compensation, and Legal teams, and work together to help make Brex Brazil a desirable, sought-after employer.
Responsibilities
Be the face of the People Team for all employees and managers in Brazil; build strong, trust-based relationships to help onboard employees, answer questions, solve programs, and build/enhance programs
Utilize your deep knowledge in Brazil labor laws and the market’s employment best practices to interpret Brazil labor laws and CBA-specific regulations and translate into actionable guidelines for Brex Brazil
As this Brazil HR Lead, you recognize that you are the go-to for all employees; therefore, you have the ability to navigate complex situations, remove roadblocks, and reach solutions
You approach problems with empathy, kindness, collaboration, and creativity. Your day-to-day responsibilities will be broad; they will include onboarding support, talent/culture management, employee relations, people/manager coaching and development. Additionally, you will be asked to partner with stakeholders to drive People programs, such as performance management and compensation adjustments
Never one to be content with the status quo, you’ll find opportunities to uplevel our People policies, procedures, and programs to enhance and maximize the employee experience in Brazil; all the while, programmatically designing what’s needed to support a scaling business
Lead relationships with our brokers and vendors to ensure benefits and payroll run smoothly. As needed, you’ll act as liaison between brokers and employees to resolve benefit related issues
Partner with Brex stakeholders to tell a story using data – you’ll track and help report on analytical and anecdotal data related to attrition, engagement, and DEI
Requirements
8+ years of demonstrated, related experience
Excellent business acumen & people judgment
Deep knowledge of Brazil employment, HR, and talent/culture best practices. Strong understanding of the market and a solid pulse on benchmarks for compensation and benefit programs
Significant understanding of Brazil labor laws
Passion for employee experience and engagement – seeks opportunities to optimize programs and policies to support experiences
Strong communication skills in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
Strong familiarity with HRIS systems and tools
Demonstrated ability to act with discretion, and have exceptional integrity and judgment in handling confidential information
Able to build trust and rapport quickly
Experience working in high-growth technology companies
Bonus Points
Experience with Workday
Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills (e.g., if/then statements, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, formulas)
