Procurement Manager

About Us:

Bushbalm is a fast-growing skincare brand born in Ottawa, ON, on a mission to tackle skin concerns often ignored — ingrown hairs, razor bumps, dark spots, underarms, bikini line, legs, everywhere. We create results-driven products and educational content that help people feel confident in their skin.

About the Role:

The Procurement Manager owns supplier relationships, cost structure, and commercial performance across Bushbalm’s global supply base. This newly created role ensures we are buying the right materials and finished goods at the right cost, with the right terms, from the right partners.

Working closely with Inventory Planning and Product Development, the Procurement Manager negotiates pricing, manages MOQs and lead times, expands and diversifies the supplier base, and protects margin as we scale.

This is a commercially focused, supplier-facing role that sits between Product Development, Inventory Planning, and Operations.

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 CAD.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Management & Commercial Ownership

  • Own relationships with all finished goods suppliers, component vendors, and co-manufacturers.

  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and capacity commitments.

  • Manage supplier performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Identify and mitigate single-source and supply risk.

  • Drive annual cost-down initiatives and margin improvement plans.

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Expansion

  • Partner with Product Development during new product launches to vet and onboard suppliers.

  • Evaluate suppliers not only for capacity and capability, but also for cost competitiveness, scalability, and operational reliability.

  • Develop dual-sourcing strategies where appropriate.

  • Continuously benchmark supplier pricing and capabilities.

Cost Control & Margin Protection

  • Monitor raw material and component cost fluctuations.

  • Flag cost increases early and lead mitigation plans.

  • Partner with Finance on COGS targets and budget alignment.

  • Structure pricing agreements that protect long-term margin.

Partnership with Inventory Planning

  • Align with Inventory Planner on order timing, forecasted volumes, and supply constraints.

  • Balance MOQ constraints with inventory health and cash flow objectives.

  • Ensure supplier commitments match the rolling inventory plan.

  • Support escalation management on supply or capacity risks.

Process, Systems & Governance

  • Maintain accurate supplier master data (pricing, lead times, MOQs, contracts).

  • Build structured negotiation documentation and contract tracking.

  • Support ERP integrity related to supplier pricing and purchasing.

  • Create reporting around cost performance, supplier KPIs, and savings initiatives.

Who You Are:

  • 5–8+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management (CPG, manufacturing, or beauty preferred).

  • Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.

  • Experience managing global suppliers and co-manufacturers.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Planning, Finance, and Operations.

  • Strong analytical skills; advanced Excel/Sheets required.

  • Experience with ERP systems; CIN7 is a plus.

  • Ability to balance cost control, supplier relationships, and operational realities in a high-growth environment.

Perks & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

  • Flexible work environment (remote/hybrid options where applicable).

  • Health and wellness benefits, including a lifestyle spending account.

  • Professional development opportunities to support career growth.

  • Free access to our award-winning products.

  • Inclusive and dynamic company culture with team-building events.
