
Senior Indirect Tax Manager

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Manager who will bring a driven, collaborative, and problem-solving approach. You will report to the Controller and will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of indirect taxation within our organization. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, while also implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax processes.
On a typical day, you will be working on:
Staying abreast of changing tax laws and regulations related to indirect taxes
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements
Preparing and filing accurate and timely tax returns, including sales tax, VAT, and GST
Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy of tax calculations and filings
Establishing and maintaining effective internal controls related to indirect taxation
Reviewing and enhancing tax processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy
Providing training and guidance to finance and accounting teams on tax matters
Serving as the primary point of contact for tax audits and inquiries
Coordinating responses to audit requests and manage audit processes
Working with external auditors to resolve tax issues and discrepancies
Monitoring changes in business operations and assess their impact on tax liabilities
Recommending and implement risk mitigation measures as necessary
Evaluating and managing relationships with external tax advisors and consultants
What do we need from you?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field
Knowledge of indirect tax laws and regulations
Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance and management
Active CPA license (preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision
A positive and collaborative demeanor
Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Base Pay Range National - Salary
$117,300—$158,700 USD
Base Pay Range California - Salary
$150,450—$203,550 USD
