
E-mail Marketing Strategist
Position Overview
An E-mail Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing email marketing campaigns that drive engagement, customer retention, and revenue growth. This role combines strategic planning, campaign execution, audience segmentation, and performance analysis to deliver targeted messaging across the customer lifecycle. The Email Marketing Strategist collaborates with marketing, design, and analytics teams to create effective email campaigns, automate customer journeys, and continually improve results through testing and data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute email marketing strategies aligned with business and marketing goals
Build and manage automated email campaigns and customer lifecycle journeys
Segment audiences and personalize messaging to improve engagement and conversions
Create campaign calendars including promotional, lifecycle, and transactional emails
Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, content, and design to optimize performance
Monitor key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and revenue
Analyze campaign performance and provide data-driven recommendations
Maintain email list health, deliverability standards, and compliance with regulations (CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and marketing teams to develop campaign assets
Manage and optimize marketing automation platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot)
Required Skills, Abilities and Characteristics
Technical Skills
Experience with email marketing platforms and automation tools
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret campaign performance data
Knowledge of segmentation, personalization, and A/B testing strategies
Familiarity with HTML/CSS for email templates is a plus
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
Success Metrics
Email engagement rates (open and click-through rates)
Conversion rate and revenue generated from email campaigns
Subscriber growth and list health
Campaign ROI and customer retention improvements
