
GTM Engineer - Demand Generation
ClickGUARD is a SaaS startup operating in a domain where ad tech meets cybersecurity. Our platform helps Google Ads advertisers protect their investment and maximize their ROI by detecting and removing wasteful ad traffic from their advertising campaigns. We’ve built the absolute best solution for a significant problem for PPC advertisers, and we need your help taking it to the next level of user experience.
About the role
We are seeking a high-leverage, systems-driven GTM Engineer (Demand Generation) to own the top of the funnel for both of our motions: direct outbound to advertisers and partner recruitment outbound to PPC agencies for our referral program. One engine, two scored universes, two message tracks. This is the classic GTM performance high-velocity, "AI-First" performance channel role. You will serve as the architect and operator of our entire demand engine: the scored account universe, the outbound infrastructure, the audit funnel, and the reporting layer that ties every booked meeting back to the signal that sourced it.
Your superpower is turning externally observable signals into booked pipeline: you treat outbound as a data engineering problem first and a copywriting problem second. You don't just build outbound infrastructure; you build a compounding revenue system, one where every send, reply, and disqualification feeds back into sharper targeting, so the engine gets smarter and cheaper with every cycle while headcount stays flat.
What You'll Own
The scored account universe (built with our data contractor): advertiser tiers, and agencies by portfolio size and vertical
Cold outbound infrastructure end-to-end: domains, warmup, deliverability, sequencing, reply handling
AI-assisted personalization at scale; we are an AI-native company and expect LLMs used as infrastructure, not as a writing toy
Partner-recruitment sequences pitching our commission program to agencies (50% year one for Certified partners; the program sells itself when it reaches the right inbox)
Retargeting against the named account list; full-funnel reporting from signal to audit to trial to paid
You're a Fit If
You've personally built an outbound system that booked revenue-generating meetings and can show the numbers
You understand Google Ads and Meta Ads well enough to write credibly to the people who run them
Hands-on with Clay (or equivalent), Smartlead/Instantly/Apollo, enrichment APIs, webhooks
You can explain SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and warmup without Googling
You treat agencies as a second ICP with different psychology: heavily pitched, margin-sensitive, motivated by client retention and passive revenue
You're Not a Fit If
Your portfolio is brand campaigns, social calendars, or SEO articles
You measure success in sends and opens rather than meetings and revenue
You need a team around you; this role builds the foundation solo
Required Skills & Experience
3-6+ Years in Outbound/Growth Systems: Proven experience building and operating cold outbound engines that booked revenue-generating meetings in a B2B SaaS or high-velocity agency environment. You can show the numbers: list size, reply rate, meeting rate, pipeline attributed.
Signal-Based Targeting: Concrete experience constructing scored account universes from external signals (spend intelligence, ad libraries, technographics, job postings) rather than buying static lists. You treat targeting as a data problem, not a database purchase.
Deliverability Ownership: You have personally owned sending infrastructure end-to-end: domain architecture, warmup, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, inbox placement monitoring, and recovery from deliverability incidents. No handing this off.
AI-Native Execution: LLMs are infrastructure in your workflow, not a drafting toy. You have built personalization, enrichment, or reply-handling systems in which a model runs within the pipeline under guardrails you designed.
Full-Funnel Accountability: You measure yourself on booked meetings, show rates, and downstream conversion quality, never on sends and opens. Track record of killing your own campaigns when the data said so.
Dual-Audience Range: Ability to write credibly to two very different buyers: performance marketers who will smell a generic sequence instantly, and agency owners who are pitched daily and filter for vendors that make them look good.
Technical Proficiency
Paid Media Literacy: (Working Level) Enough Google Ads and Meta Ads fluency to speak the ICP's language: campaign types, CPCs, ROAS, invalid traffic. You will be writing to people who live in these platforms daily.
Sequencing & Sending Infrastructure: (Expert Level) Smartlead, Instantly, Apollo, or equivalent, including multi-domain setups, rotation, and reply routing.
Enrichment & Signal APIs: Working fluency with SEMrush/SpyFu, Meta Ad Library, technographic trackers (BuiltWith/Wappalyzer class), and people-data providers; comfort consuming REST APIs and webhooks directly.
HubSpot CRM Ecosystem: Strong proficiency in pipeline structures, custom properties, and attribution instrumentation so every meeting traces to its sourcing signal.
Automation Engineering: Strong execution knowledge of workflow automation (n8n, Make, Zapier, or native AI-agent integrations) connecting the stack without engineering support.
Logistics
Remote, async-first team culture.
Must have overlapping availability for live syncs between 7 AM and 2 PM EST.
