About the role:

We're looking for a hands-on content creator and marketing leader to own and scale our organic brand presence through compelling video and social content. You'll be behind the camera shooting and directing content, working with team members to produce high-quality videos and social content that drives three core objectives: (1) grow and engage our audience across all channels, (2) acquire more customers, and (3) strengthen our movement and community.

What you'll do:

Own Content Strategy & Creation:

  • Lead video content creation and production across all platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn)—this means you're comfortable shooting, directing, and owning the creative vision for content. In order to do this well, you’ll need to become an expert in solopreneurs and how Collective solves their pain points.

  • Direct and collaborate with Collective team members, executives, and subject matter experts to create engaging video content, testimonials, explainers, and social-first videos.

  • Collaborate with members, influencers, and other experts to help drive better content

  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and content quality bar across all video and social content.

  • Stay agile and responsive—able to quickly produce timely content that capitalizes on trends, news, or cultural moments.

Social Media & Community

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive organic content strategy spanning social media, video, and community engagement that directly supports audience growth, customer acquisition, and community building.

  • Manage day-to-day social media posting, content optimization, and platform-specific adaptations.

  • Build and nurture online communities that strengthen our movement, drive brand loyalty, and convert audience members into customers.

Performance & Optimization

  • Own and report on three primary KPIs:

    • Audience Growth: Track and grow followers, subscribers, and reach across all social channels

    • Customer Acquisition: Measure and optimize content's impact on new customer acquisition and conversion

    • Community Strength: Monitor engagement rates, community sentiment, repeat engagement, and movement building metrics

  • Conduct regular competitive analysis and channel audits to identify opportunities and inform strategic pivots.

  • Use data insights to continuously optimize content performance, testing new formats and approaches that drive KPIs.

  • Stay ahead of platform algorithm changes, content trends, and production best practices.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in content creation, video production, and social media marketing with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating audience growth and business impact

  • Hands-on creator first, strategist second—you're comfortable behind the camera shooting and directing content, with strong creative vision for what makes compelling video. While you can work with agency partners for editing, you should have enough production chops to create content independently when needed and effectively direct external partners.

  • Proven track record of creating engaging video content that drives views, engagement, audience growth, and conversions

  • Deep expertise across social platforms with understanding of what makes content perform on each

  • Comfortable being on camera and directing others on camera; able to bring out authentic performances from non-professional talent

  • Experience building and nurturing online communities, not just broadcasting content

  • Scrappy, resourceful, and able to produce high-quality content without massive budgets or teams

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to connect content performance to business outcomes

  • Data-driven with ability to analyze performance and iterate quickly
