Social Media Coordinator

This is a remote, freelance position

As a worldwide leader, Polygon operates at a rapid pace and is always looking for experienced and passionate contributors who can create original high-quality content in a timely manner.

Your Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage daily content (links, images, videos) across multiple social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, TikTok) - including breaking news, evergreen discussion posts, reels, and more.

• Create engaging social graphics (Photoshop, Canva or similar) 

• Write engaging captions and copy to drive user interaction, leveraging Polygon's voice and style.

• Edit short-form video content for social distribution

• Monitor performance data and adjust strategy accordingly

• Identify trending topics and reactive content opportunities

• Collaborate with editorial to maximise story performance

• Learn and utilize the TrueAnthem scheduling tool and Media Library system, efficiently tagging, sorting, and organizing content.

• Provide flexible availability, adjusting work hours as needed for special events such as Gamescom, award shows, or major entertainment news cycles.

Experience and Skills

• Proven experience managing social media accounts at scale, specifically Facebook and Instagram

• Strong understanding of platform algorithms and audience behaviour

• Ability to create compelling static social imagery

• Basic short-form video editing skills

• Experience using social scheduling and analytics tools

• Strong interest in gaming and gaming media

• Experience in digital publishing or media

• Familiarity with monetisation strategies across social platforms
