Content Marketing Manager
About Craver
Hey! Weâre Craver, a Canadian tech startup transforming local coffee shops & QSRs with our cutting-edge digital ordering & customer loyalty technology.
Digital ordering tech, like mobile apps & loyalty programs, has fuelled the success of big brands like Starbucks, McDonald's and ShakeShack. We're hiring a Content Marketing Manager to help us bring that same technology to local, independent coffee shops & QSRs worldwide.
Oh â and weâre a great place to work, officially! Weâve been recognized as both a 2022-23 Workplace Culture Leader and a 2022 Great Place to Work winner. Not bad for a company thatâs only a few years old.
Your Personal Qualities
Youâre genuinely curious about the world of coffee shops and QSRs â maybe youâve worked behind the counter or are just a coffee-lover.
Youâll own all of our content channels â from blogs & emails to video & social media, youâll cover it all. Your skills lie less in being able to produce all of these assets to an amazing standard yourself, and more in being able to bring in the right resources at the right time to deliver the right results.
Youâre confident, articulate & a strong communicator. You present your ideas clearly and can defend them when you need to. Youâre also not afraid to ask for money, time or help if it will lead to better work.
Youâre a natural storyteller â youâve been creating content for several years, and have impeccably high standards and strong opinions as a result.
Youâre creative, but you care about the numbers too. You know that marketing is only meaningful if it changes peopleâs behaviour, so you measure things meticulously â from click-through-rates to conversions.
Youâre fiercely ambitious. Youâre comfortable taking on projects that are new and scary and see them as a chance to learn. Youâd rather try and get it wrong than take the safer route, and want to work in a team that encourages that.
Youâre outcomes-obsessed. To be successful in this role, itâs essential that youâre delivering results for the business. Youâre able to keep the bigger picture in mind, always remembering that the content you produce needs to bring someone closer to becoming a Craver customer or, better still, a Craver advocate.
You crave autonomy, flexibility & freedom in your work. Youâre great at juggling projects, managing deadlines, and staying organized â even when things get busy.
Youâre confident working with technology and are always looking for opportunities to achieve better outcomes with less time or effort.
Requirements
Your Skills & Experience
Youâve got a degree in Marketing/Communications/Business â or youâve picked up the right skills through other meaningful experience.
Youâve spent 3+ years in a Content Marketing role, and youâve got a portfolio to match. If thatâs been in a B2B SaaS environment, even better.
You have an excellent grasp of the English language â including humour, tone of voice and the nuances of the language.
Youâre a strong writer who can take complex ideas and turn them into clear, compelling content â whether itâs a punchy ad, a detailed guide, or anything in between. You know how to shape content to match different tones, voices, and audiences.
Youâve managed agencies, contractors, direct reports or partners to bring your vision to life.
Youâre familiar with SEO & GEO principles and understand how to weave them into content without making it sound like a robot wrote it.
Youâve produced video projects before (youâll be working on everything from Instagram reels to video testimonials).
You understand email marketing (youâll be responsible for newsletters, lead nurturing flows, new feature announcements, and more).
Youâre highly results-driven. Youâre focused on impact, not just inputs, and youâre always looking at the numbers to see whatâs working and how you can improve.
The Role & Responsibilities
Overall, youâre responsible for creating Craverâs content plan and overseeing its delivery, bringing in whatever resources you need to make that happen.
Youâll work with the Director of Marketing to create our annual content plan and break it down into quarterly projects, weekly milestones and daily to-dos.
You'll be leading & mentoring our awesome Content Marketing Specialist, supporting their growth and making sure they're set up to deliver great work.
Youâll work with media partners (podcasts, industry news, YouTube creators and beyond) to co-create content that will bring new people into the Craver world.
Youâll own the Craver blog, produce a pipeline of fresh ad creative, manage our email communications, run our social media & develop new content channels for the business as you see fit.
Youâll work with the Director of Marketing to ensure that our content strategy is a closed loop â people are discovering, enjoying and sharing our content, of course, but itâs also nudging them towards becoming Craver customers.
Youâll create thought-leadership contentâlike proprietary data reports and Founder-led contentâthat establishes Craver as the go-to expert for coffee shops and QSRs.
Youâll be the Sales Teamâs secret weapon, creating the high-impact content they need to get leads excited and inspired by what Craver has to offer (everything from data-backed claims, to success stories, and interactive tools).
Youâll stay up-to-date on issues & opportunities affecting the coffee shop & QSR world through industry media & conducting customer interviews, then figure out the best ways to address these through Craverâs content.
Youâll measure the numbers that matter â views & visits are great, but what are they leading to? Youâll understand the customer journey from discovery to conversion and cleverly use content to help as many people as possible choose Craver.
