About the role
We're seeking a storyteller extraordinaire to become the voice of Dagster Labs' thriving data engineering community. As our Social Media and Communications Manager, you'll blend technical expertise with creative flair, crafting short-form copy that transforms complex data concepts into digestible, engaging content. This unique role offers you the chance to elevate our brand from good to great, bringing authenticity, wit, and a dash of humor to the world of data orchestration.
You'll be the communication architect of our digital presence, conceptualizing and producing content that not only resonates with our audience but stays ahead of trends. Your mission? To infuse our online channels with relatability, confidence, and enthusiasm, making Dagster Labs a joy to engage with. Working with our product marketing team, you'll help lighten our voice and make our message more practical and easily digestible for leads and customers alike.

Responsibilities:
Craft engaging, witty short-form content that balances technical expertise with creative flair for social media, newsletter, emails, web pages, talk abstracts, and ads.
Develop and implement content across various platforms, maintaining a consistent brand voice.
Manage Dagster's presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, Slack, and YouTube, including content scheduling and community engagement.
Drive employee advocacy and help leadership team build thought leadership in the data engineering space.
Engage with the data engineering community and collaborating with industry influencers.
Analyze social media and community metrics, providing insights to refine strategies.
Work closely with marketing, product, and engineering teams to align community efforts with overall business goals.
Stay current with data engineering trends and social media best practices, incorporating them into content strategy.
Must-have Qualifications
5+ years of experience in technical marketing, content marketing, or social media within the data, IT, or infrastructure ecosystem.
Proven track record as an excellent short-form copywriter, creating results-driven content for social channels, emails, websites, and events.
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, market trends, and customer needs.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute creative strategies that drive measurable results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with social media management tools and analytics platforms.
Proven success in growing and engaging online communities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to new challenges.
Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving revenue growth and achieving business objectives.
Familiarity with open-source software communities is a plus.

We are a distributed team with offices in San Francisco, New York, and Minneapolis. We have team members all over the U.S. and are hiring fully remote candidates. Every employee is provided a remote work stipend to cover the cost of home office equipment and anything else that makes your remote work location comfortable, productive, or successful. And if you’d instead not work from home, we’ll cover the cost of a coworking or office space if you’re fully remote. This is a full-time, competitively-paid position with benefits
The estimated annual cash salary for this role is $125,000 - $170,000.
