The Role

We're hiring our first dedicated People Operations leader to own all things HR and build scalable people systems as we grow. Reporting to our VP of Finance, you'll have full ownership to design, implement, and optimize our people operations from recruiting through offboarding—with the autonomy to make this function your own.

This isn't just an execution role. As we continue scaling toward 100+ employees, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a People Operations team, shape our culture, and become a trusted advisor to leadership on all people-related decisions.

What You'll Own

  • Talent Acquisition

    • Lead full-cycle recruiting: write compelling job descriptions, source candidates, conduct initial screens, and coordinate hiring with department leaders

    • Build and optimize our recruiting process to attract top remote talent

    • Partner with Dept Heads to define role requirements and interview criteria

  • Onboarding & Offboarding

    • Create seamless onboarding experiences that set new hires up for success

    • Coordinate training schedules with department heads and ensure strong first impressions

    • Manage professional offboarding processes and conduct exit interviews

  • Benefits & Compensation Administration

    • Administer health insurance, 401(k), dental, and vision programs via our PEO (Deel)

    • Serve as primary point of contact for employee benefits questions

    • Evaluate and recommend benefits improvements as we scale

  • International Employment & Compliance

    • Manage international contractor relationships and EOR processes through Deel

    • Ensure compliance with U.S. labor laws and international employment regulations

    • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation

  • Employee Experience & Culture

    • Be the go-to person for employee questions, concerns, and conflict resolution

    • Plan and execute team initiatives, engagement programs, and culture-building activities

    • Partner with leadership to maintain our values-driven culture through growth

  • People Operations Infrastructure

    • Build scalable HR processes, policies, and documentation

    • Implement and optimize HRIS tools and workflows

    • Maintain & update employee handbook, policies, and compliance frameworks

    • Develop performance management and career development systems

Tools You'll Use

Deel (PEO/EOR for US & international employment), Polymer (HRIS), LinkedIn Recruiter, Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, and whatever else you recommend to make People Ops excellent.

What You Bring

  • Required:

    • 3-5 years of People Operations or HR experience (startup/high-growth environment strongly preferred)

    • Hands-on experience with PEOs and international employment (Deel, Rippling, Remote, or similar)

    • Working knowledge of benefits administration and 401(k) programs

    • Solid understanding of U.S. employment law and HR compliance

    • Proven ability to build HR processes from scratch or early-stage

    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Self-directed work style with ability to manage competing priorities

    • Strong communication skills and natural relationship-builder

    • Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments

    • Available to work EST or CST business hours for team collaboration

  • For international candidates:

    • Must have established local entity for billing/invoicing

    • Experience working remotely with US-based companies preferred

  • Bonus Points:

    • Experience scaling HR from 50-100+ employees

    • Background in B2B SaaS or technology companies

    • Previous experience as first or second HR hire

    • Familiarity with multi-state and international employment

    • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Base salary: Up to $100,000 based on experience with flexibility for the right candidate

Our Hiring Process

  1. Initial conversation with Chief of Staff (30 minutes)

  2. Interview with Finance (30 mins - 1 hr)

  3. Final conversation with CEO and reference checks
