Remote Operations Manager (Finance & Operations)

Pay: $25–$30/hour ($52,000–$62,400/year at full-time), plus a 90-day performance bonus and year-end bonus

Schedule: 30 hours/week to start (Monday–Friday, within 10am–6pm ET), moving to full-time by month 4

At Jumpstart Go, we help insurance agents grow their businesses through organic social media and referral-based marketing, so they can build businesses that support the lives they want. The company was founded for that same reason: more time for family, pets, and travel. We want the same for everyone on our team.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

Finds peace in a well-run system. You believe calm comes from good processes. When everything is documented, reconciled, and in its place, you can breathe easier, and so can everyone around you. (If that sentence made you nod, you’re probably our person.)

Takes pride in work done right. You spot the number that doesn’t match. You can’t leave a messy spreadsheet alone. You feel real satisfaction when everything reconciles to the penny.

Prevents fires instead of fighting them. You value efficiency and speed, but never at the expense of peace. You plan ahead, fix problems at the root, and would rather the emergency never happen.

Speaks up. When something’s off, you say so, even when the mistake is your own (or leadership’s). You’re honest about your own bandwidth. And when things are unclear, you prefer to ask questions instead of assuming.

Wants to be part of a connected remote team. Our team is spread across the US, Canada, Mexico, Honduras, and the Philippines, and we meet regularly and genuinely show up for each other. After years working remotely, many of our team members tell us this is the first time they’ve truly felt like part of a team. You want that too.

Has a full life outside of work. You care about your family, your pets, your travels, whatever matters to you, and you want a role that makes room for it. (Yes, we’ll probably ask about your pets. 🐾)

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:

Every success story we help create depends on a lot of work happening behind the scenes. A payment processed correctly. A contract on the right version. Payroll that ran on time. A process the team actually follows. You’ll be the person who makes sure all of that happens.

  • Money in: process client payments, create invoices, and manage subscriptions and payment plans

  • Money out: run weekly payroll and contractor payments, and verify commissions before they’re paid

  • Accuracy: keep client accounts and contracts correct, prepare chargeback documentation, and reconcile monthly with our bookkeeping team

  • Daily financials: post a daily snapshot for leadership so nothing surprises anyone

  • Quality control: make sure the processes our team runs are documented, followed, and working

  • Knowledge base: own our SOPs, retire what’s outdated, and be the person who knows where everything lives

  • Team onboarding and offboarding: contracts, tool access, and payroll setup, done right from day one

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 3+ years in operations or finance administration for a small business or agency

  • Proven experience with invoicing, payroll, commissions, or bookkeeping, and references who will vouch for your accuracy

  • Highly organized. You write things down because you enjoy it, not because someone made you

  • Comfortable with tools like QuickBooks, Gusto, Wise, Airtable, and GoHighLevel (or similar)

  • You use AI to work smarter and always check the output

  • Steady and reliable over the long haul. This is a long-term role, not project work

  • Bonus: experience with contracts, payment disputes, or working alongside bookkeepers and legal teams

THIS ROLE ISN’T FOR YOU IF:

  • You thrive in chaos, or love being the hero who saves the day at the last minute. We’d rather the fire never start

  • You’d rather build new systems than make sure existing ones run smoothly

  • You’re looking for a strategy or leadership role

  • You need a task list handed to you every morning

  • You’d prefer to work without video calls. We meet on camera regularly, and that face time is a big part of how we stay connected.

WHAT THIS ROLE INCLUDES:

  • Work from anywhere

  • $25–$30/hour based on experience

  • $1,000 performance bonus at your 90-day review, plus a year-end bonus

  • Path to full-time by month 4

  • Working directly with the founders on a team that values getting it right, and getting it done calmly

Frequently Asked Questions

When would you like the new hire to start?
We’d love for our new hire to start in early December.
What’s the hiring process after the application is filled out? E.G. interviews with team members and a test project?
Step 1: We review your answers to the application questions. Step 2: Shortlisted candidates submit a short video introduction and a DISC assessment, then have a short interview. Step 3: Next is a paid test project: a realistic sample of the work, paid at the top of the rate range. Step 4: Finalists meet with both founders before we make an offer.
What does a typical week look like?
Your week has a steady rhythm. Payroll runs every Monday. Each business day starts with a financials update you post for leadership in Slack. In between, you’re processing client payments and invoices, keeping accounts and contracts accurate, and checking that our team’s processes are running the way they should. Once a week you deliver a quality review, and once a month you reconcile with our bookkeeping team.
What do the first 90 days look like?
Days 1–30: Learn the money. You shadow and take over client payments, invoicing, payroll, commissions, and contracts, documenting each process as you learn it. Days 31–60: Run it independently. You run finance on your own, without the founders involved in routine work. You also audit client accounts, start the weekly quality review, and build out our SOPs and onboarding checklists. Days 61–90: You take the lead. You become the team’s go-to for questions, roll out your first new process from start to finish, and deliver your first monthly operations report.
What are some perks and benefits of the job?
- Work from anywhere, on a schedule that leaves room for your life outside work - $1,000 performance bonus at 90 days, plus a year-end bonus each December - Path to full-time by month 4 - Working directly with the founders - A connected team that meets regularly and genuinely shows up for each other - An organized workplace where planning ahead is valued over putting out fires
Is this an employee or contractor role?
This is an independent contractor role. You track your hours and submit them with each invoice.
Is there a trial or test period? About how long?
Yes, the first 90 days are a ramp-up period. At your 90-day review, we look at your results together. You earn a $1,000 performance bonus once you’re fully running our finance operations: payroll, client payments, invoicing, and commissions on schedule with no founder involvement, zero payroll errors, the daily update posted consistently, and every finance process documented. From there, you move to full-time by month 4.
How is the hourly rate set?
The range is $25–$30/hour, and where you land depends on your experience, especially with payroll, invoicing, and bookkeeping. That works out to $52,000–$62,400/year at full-time hours, before bonuses.
How is success measured?
We keep it clear and measurable. Payroll is accurate and on time, every Monday. Payments, commissions, and client accounts match what was agreed. The daily update goes out on time. And when something goes wrong, you’re the one who catches it first. We’ll walk you through the full scorecard before you start.
Are there set hours I need to be working during the day?
Yes. You’ll work Monday through Friday within 10am–6pm ET, starting at 30 hours a week and moving to full-time (40 hours) by month 4. If you’re outside the US, we ask that you shift your hours to match Eastern Time, including when US clocks change for daylight saving. Some things run on fixed times: payroll every Monday, the daily financials update each morning, and our team meeting on Mondays at 10:30am ET.

Don't let this one get away.
