ABOUT THE GAME

Hopetown is a new narrative-first RPG inspired by Disco Elysium, being built by some of the team that worked on Disco Elysium, including Martin Luiga (founder of the ZA/UM Cultural Movement, writer of several characters on Disco Elysium, writer of the first short story in the Disco Elysium world),  Lenval Brown (narrator of Disco Elysium) and Piotr Sobolewski (former CEO of Knights of Unity, which completed all the tech for Disco Elysium).

We are currently moving into early production, building out the foundational systems, characters, and mechanics that will define the experience. With your help, we can transform Hopetown from a great cRPG into an unforgettable one — a living, breathing universe of stories, surprises, and challenges.

ABOUT US

Longdue is a studio founded to create rich, emotional, story-first games that challenge players’ expectations. We’re a remote team of writers, artists, designers, and engineers, bringing together talent from across the industry to push the boundaries of narrative-driven RPGs.

We are still early in production — meaning new team members will have a real, tangible impact on the world we are building. We believe that extraordinary games can come from small, focused teams — teams that value creativity, openness, and care over convention.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Concept Artist to help define the artistic vision of Longdue’s first narrative-driven RPG. Reporting to the Art Director, you’ll collaborate with the creative team to craft compelling characters, environments, and props that bring our world to life.

This is a hands-on role where your designs will guide the production of assets for the game, ensuring they align with the studio’s vision of immersive storytelling and psychological depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Art Director: Work closely to ensure the visual direction aligns with the game’s narrative and artistic goals.

  • Create Concept Art: Develop character, environment, and prop concepts that define the visual identity of the game.

  • Capture Mood and Emotion: Produce mood boards, key art, and sketches that reflect the psychological depth and atmosphere of our RPG.

  • Support World-Building: Translate the game’s themes into vivid visuals that enhance storytelling and player immersion.

  • Iterate and Refine Designs: Explore multiple ideas and incorporate feedback to improve the quality and impact of your work.

  • Work Across Disciplines: Partner with other teams to ensure concepts are effectively translated into in-game assets.

  • Contribute to Team Discussions: Participate in creative meetings, offering ideas and insights to push the artistic vision further.

Requirements

We’re seeking a talented artist who’s passionate about crafting unforgettable visuals for narrative-driven games.

  • Experience in Concept Art: Proven experience creating concept art in the gaming or entertainment industry, preferably for RPGs or narrative-heavy titles.

  • Versatile Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing designs for characters, environments, and props, with a focus on storytelling and emotional depth.

  • Artistic Adaptability: Flexibility to create concepts that could support both 2D and 3D production pipelines.

  • Creative Problem-Solving: Ability to translate abstract ideas into concrete visual designs.

  • Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working in a team, sharing and receiving feedback, and iterating on ideas.

  • Passion for Storytelling: A strong appreciation for narrative-driven games and the role art plays in creating immersive experiences.
