Senior Business Operations Manager

Role Description:

The Senior Business Operations Manager is a smart generalist who will be help build business critical functions that help us scale. To start, you'll be working with me (the COO) to establish core back office functions: security, accessibility, compliance, legal, and IT. We operate in a heavily regulated field, so this work is key to ensuring that our systems and processes not only meet industry standards but also support the company's rapid growth. In the future, this role will do whatever is necessary to help us scale efficiently and effectively. We're looking for a smart, driven, and emotionally intelligent individual who can manage complex cross-functional projects with an aptitude for technology and data.

In the future, you may help us scale via data & OKRs. You may help with special projects like supporting/leading our international expansion, establishing a research consortium, helping us measure our impact, launching new products, building partnerships, etc. Really, whatever needs to be done at a fast growing education company.

Responsibilities

  • Building Core Functions: Develop and enhance our security, accessibility, compliance, legal, and IT functions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • System and Process Development: Design and implement systems and processes that support these core functions, enabling the company to scale effectively.

  • Cross-Functional Project Management: Lead complex, cross-functional projects that involve multiple departments, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with company goals.

  • Technology Integration: Leverage technology to enhance business operations, with a focus on implementing tools that improve efficiency and compliance.

  • Generalist Support: Serve as a 'smart generalist,' providing support across various business operations functions, including project and program management, data analysis, and other strategic initiatives.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align operational goals and maintain clear, consistent communication across teams.

  • Reporting and Insights: Provide regular updates on key operational metrics, analyze trends, and deliver actionable insights to senior management.

Experience:

  • 5+ years work experience

  • Track record of success

  • Startup experience

  • Recent IC experience (This is a hands-on individual contributor role)
