Senior Backend Engineer

The Opportunity: 

Miris is seeking skilled Senior Go Backend Engineers to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience in implementing a website backend in Go, web application security, and network architecture. You will play a crucial role in supporting customers who use Miris to deliver 3D content for linear storytelling on various AR/VR devices.

What You'll Do:

• Design APIs for front end web UI and customer use

• Implement full customer-facing webserver backend, including user account security - user sessions, login & authentication

• Web app architecture and security

• Conduct code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and enhance existing codebases to improve performance and maintainability

What You'l Bring: 

• 4+ years of experience with Go (7+ years of experience in software development)

• Experience building high-traffic web services in Go

• Experience writing unit tests

• Knowledge and understanding of distributed, highly available, and scalable cloud-based systems

• Knowledge and understanding of microservice architecture and patterns

• Experience designing and implementing RESTish APIs

• Experience working with containers and CDNs

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to sharing knowledge and ideas

• Experience with user login and authentication using providers such as Auth0, Cognito

• Location: Remote but must be based in North America

Bonus Points:

• Experience with a variety of AWS services, IAM and AWS Org security models

• Experience with batch job control - async job status

• C++ would be a bonus

• Vue or React

• Python & Terraform

• Knowledge of CDN (Content Delivery Network) architectures and streaming workflows

• Unity or Unreal

Target Base Salary Range

$102,693 - $215,935 USD
