The Opportunity

Star Trek communicators became smartphones. Arthur C. Clarke's orbital satellites became GPS. The most transformative technologies in human history were first imagined in fiction — and the people who wrote those stories helped shape the world that followed.

That is the thesis behind everything we are building.

Moonshots.com is running the world's largest film competition, a global AI-powered storytelling prize challenging creators everywhere to envision an optimistic, technology-forward future for humanity. In partnership with the XPRIZE Foundation, Google, and Hollywood production company Range Media Partners, we have put up $3.5M in prizes to find and fund the next generation of visionary storytellers. We launched in March 2026 and already have hundreds of creators from around the world competing.

The whole thing culminates on September 25, 2026 in Los Angeles — a single-day live awards ceremony we call the Moonshot Gathering. Think the Oscars for Moonshot Builders: five finalists screen their films on the big screen, pitch their visions live on stage, and one walks away with $2.5M in production funding to actually make the film.

Alongside the film competition, we are running the Moonshot Hackathon — a parallel global competition challenging developers to build real AI-powered solutions to real-world problems, with $1.5M in prizes.

This is not a corporate initiative. It is a genuine attempt to shift culture — to prove that optimism is not naive, that the future is worth building toward, and that the stories we tell today become the technology we live inside tomorrow.

We are a lean team moving fast. Peter Diamandis is the founder. The competitions are live. The clock is running. And we need someone exceptional to help hold it all together.

About the Role

We need a force multiplier who can turn strategy into execution. You will be the operational backbone that keeps our fast-moving competitions running smoothly while we scale partnerships, fundraising, and community — and help bring our flagship live event to life.

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role for someone who thrives in 0→1 environments and does not need hand-holding.

Partner & Stakeholder Management (25%)

• Primary point of contact for operational partner needs

• Interface with sponsors (Salesforce, Ark, XSOLLA, Replit, Eleven Labs, Circle, XPV)

• Track deliverables, contracts, payment status

• Draft and send follow-up communications with partners

Project & Operations Management (30%)

• Manage day-to-day execution of both competitions (FVXP + Hackathon)

• Track milestones, deadlines, and dependencies across workstreams

• Coordinate weekly team syncs and maintain action item tracking

• Own operational documentation (wikis, runbooks, process docs)

Moonshot Gathering — Event Operations Support (20%)

The Moonshot Gathering is our flagship single-day awards ceremony on September 25, 2026 in Los Angeles — think the Oscars for Moonshot Builders, hosted for 1,000+ founders, builders, and industry leaders. This role works directly with Travis Dredd, our Executive Director of event production, to keep every operational thread moving toward a flawless show.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as Travis's (COO of Moonshots) operational right hand — tracking open items, vendor deliverables, and internal approvals across venue, AV, catering, and production

• Maintain the master event project tracker and surface blockers proactively

• Coordinate logistics for finalists and judges attending the live event, including travel, accommodations, run-of-show briefings, and green room prep

• Manage communication between the event production team and competition workstreams (Range Media, XPRIZE, sponsors) as timelines converge in September

• Own the attendee-facing operational details: ticketing status, deposit communications, and day-of coordination touchpoints

• Support live show logistics including the prize award ceremony, audience voting execution, and post-event press activities

AI & Automation Support (15%)

• Help maintain context for AI assistant across all project locations

• Update project databases (Notion, Todoist) with meeting notes and decisions

• Implement automation workflows (email templates, task triggers, reporting)

Creative & Technical Execution (10%)

• Handle in-between tasks: image resizing, ad uploads, asset prep

• Upload sponsor logos to email workflows and website

• Set up marketing campaigns (ads, email sequences, social assets)

Who You Are - Must-Haves

• Proven operator - 2+ years managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders

• Event experience a plus - you've supported or run live events and know the chaos that comes with production week

• Detail-obsessed - Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch

• Self-starter - You do not wait to be told what to do

• Communication ninja - You can write clear, professional emails

• Tech-savvy - Comfortable with Notion, Todoist, Slack, Google Workspace, basic automation

• Startup mentality - Comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and wearing multiple hats

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation: $4,000–$5,000/month

• Contract basis (1099), potential to convert to full-time employment
