The Role

The Head of Data and AI will be responsible for overseeing the Data and AI strategy, management of data analytics, data science and data engineering functions within the organisation. This role involves leading a team of data professionals to harness the power of data, driving insights and innovation that support our business objectives and enhance customer experiences.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• AI and Data Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive AI and data strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives, ensuring data is leveraged as a strategic asset.

• Data Management and Governance: Establish and oversee data management and governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organisation.

• Analytics and Insights: Lead the development of advanced analytics capabilities to drive data-driven decision-making and provide actionable insights to various business units.

• Spearhead and manage the creation of an Identity Verification (IDV) solution utilising Large Language Models (LLMs) and cutting-edge artificial intelligence architectures.

• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Technology and Tools: Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art AI and data technologies and tools to enhance data processing, storage, and analysis capabilities.

• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing, and finance, to integrate data solutions and drive business value.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards, such as UAE/KSA PDPL, GDPR and CCPA, maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security.

• Performance Measurement: Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data initiatives and communicate results to senior leadership.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• Over 10 years of experience in AI and data management, analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven experience in the FinTech industry or a similar fast-paced, data-driven environment.

• Customer-facing capabilities.

• Strong understanding of data architecture, data governance, and data privacy regulations.

• Proficiency in some advanced technologies and concepts like:
