Chief Marketing Officer
We're looking for an executive level Marketing professional with 10+ years of experience to lead our marketing efforts and drive growth. The Chief Marketing Officer will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will focus on our most important product lines, the Marketplace (PublicSquare.com) and our newly formed FinTech and Payments division. We’re looking for a leader with a results-based mindset to grow key channels for acquiring shoppers and values-aligned merchants.
Our ideal candidate is a person who is as comfortable driving strategic thinking for the department as they are rolling up their sleeves and leading by example. PublicSquare is still in start-up mode so the right person for this role will be resourceful, creative, and willing to be a player coach. From direct response to brand positioning, this role will shape the direction of our brand and the marketing team for our next stage of growth. Qualifications
Experience and/or deep knowledge of the American socio-political landscape
Experience setting Marketing department strategies and motivating a team to reach measurable outcomes against those strategies
Comfortable with business modeling, creating metrics-oriented goals, and making tough tradeoffs in the spirit of focus and outcomes
Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to manage brand voice and communicate marketing strategies effectively
Strong business acumen, with the ability to create metric-driven goals and make strategic decisions
Responsibilities
Lead and grow your team of 10 to drive marketing and eCommerce growth
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Fintech Team, the Marketplace Team, UX, Engineering, and Sales.
Develop and implement quarterly marketing objectives aligned with marketplace goals, user insights, and analytics-driven decisions
Lead marketing strategies across direct response, email, social media, affiliate marketing, and SEO to boost traffic, orders, and customer retention
Oversee brand positioning and content creation by gathering customer insights and providing creative direction
Manage the marketing team by refining brand guidelines, providing consistent feedback, and scaling efforts through AI tools and third-party services
Ensure a consistent brand experience that supports both commerce and ad sales revenue
Optimize resource allocation by determining when to leverage internal talent, external vendors, or specialized tools
Requirements
Product-Centric Digital Marketing
10+ years of leadership experience multiple marketing disciplines
5+ years of proven success leading fast-growing marketing organization
Experience managing third-party vendors and negotiating contracts
Direct-to-Consumer experience
E-Commerce experience
Demonstrated success in direct response, email, social, and affiliate marketing
