Vice President of Operations
The Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading the operational and technological strategies of the company to ensure efficient, effective execution of business process, and alignment with our company goals. This executive-level position requires a dynamic leader who is adept at leveraging technology to enhance operational processes while driving innovation and maintaining high standards of productivity. The VP of Operations is responsible for managing the Logistics & Distribution, Technology, and Operations Services Teams. The L&D Team owns Product Delivery from Factory to 3PL warehouse to internal and external customers. The Technology Team owns the design, implementation and optimization of the company’s information systems and technology infrastructure. The Operations Services Team owns reverse logistics, as well as process improvement and project management of cross-functional activities such as collaborations, second turn, and compliance.
The VP of Operations sits on the Senior Leadership Team at Stio and reports to the President.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational and technological strategies that align with the company’s vision and objectives. Actively participate in executive decision-making processes.
Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness through process improvements, performance metrics, and best practices. Manage procurement, logistics/reverse logistics, distribution and warehouse management.
Technology Leadership: Drive technological advancements within the organization, evaluating current systems and recommending upgrades or new implementations. Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the business.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the operations, 3PL warehouse, and technology budgets, ensuring financial targets are met while maximizing value and minimizing costs.
Team Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across operations and technology functions. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
Project Management: Oversee key projects and initiatives, from conception through implementation, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate and collaborate with other departments, including sales/B2B, marketing/DTC, product, finance, and human resources, to ensure alignment of operations and technology goals with broader company objectives and go-to-market process.
Go To Market (GTM) Contribution: Ownership of tasks and milestones related to inbound transit times, outbound fulfillment and input on GTM timelines, assortment planning, inventory planning and commercialization strategy.
Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for L&D and technology.
Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a key point of contact for stakeholders regarding operational performance and technology integration, providing insights and updates to the executive team and board of directors as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in operations management and technology leadership, with a proven track record in executive roles.
Strong understanding of operational best practices and technological solutions that drive business performance.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and complex projects, PMP or related certification a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Experience with budget management, operational financing, and cost optimization
Periodic (at least 4-6 per year) in-person visits to HQ in Jackson Wyoming and/or satellite hubs required

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $170,000-$200,000. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of the range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills and qualifications.
