Role: Creative Operations Manager
DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a Creative Operations Manager who can build the plane while flying it. You’ll be the central nervous system of our creative team—balancing structure with flexibility, process with people. As a team of one (for now), you'll lead creative resourcing, workflow management, process optimization, and operational strategy—while rolling up your sleeves to get it all done.
This is a rare opportunity to build the creative operations function from the ground up in a high-trust, low-ego environment.
The Creative Operations and Resourcing Manager will use their unique blend of expertise in agency operations, staffing, project management, talent management, and interdisciplinary agency outputs to ensure the efficient and effective operation of agency projects and initiatives. The candidate will build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and manage agency workflow, optimize processes, and ensure that projects are executed effectively.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with creative teams to define project goals, objectives, staffing requirements, and vision for success
Identify headcount allocations to accelerate creative team growth to align with business needs, from project planning to execution.
Act as the gatekeeper for creative bandwidth. Own timelines, traffic, and prioritization across all projects.
Identify processes needed to ensure resourcing is managed effectively across all facets of the business, and operations run smoothly to meet client demands
Review team burn reports to understand staffing efficiencies and to inform financial health and staff planning
Collaborate internally and externally to deliver on project goals, objectives, and a strong creative vision
Identify and build systems, processes, and tools needed to effectively manage projects and resourcing
Collaborate with finance to manage project budgets, estimates, and report on budget variances, ensuring cost-effective frameworks are met
Develop, execute, and manage quarterly headcount planning cycle as well as end-to-end project plans, and ensure on-time delivery
Strategically manage and develop new resourcing processes to assess project requirements and people development mandates across departments and teams
Ensure resource plans align with proper casting and project types
Manage resourcing staff and cross-functional resourcing agency teams
Spot bottlenecks before they happen. Course-correct in real time with diplomacy and urgency.
SKILLS
5+ years of experience in creative operations, project management, or production roles within an agency or creative-led organization.
Proven ability to juggle many moving parts while staying calm, clear, and collaborative.
A builder’s mindset: you're comfortable creating structure from scratch.
Deep understanding of the creative process—what makes creative teams thrive, and how to protect that.
Experience with project management tools like Asana, Monday, Workamajig, or similar. Experience with resource management tools like Harvest, Float, Mavelink, Smartsheets, or similar.
A strong communicator who can align teams and make complexity feel simple.
