Public Relations Lead - Creative Agency

Role: PR Lead

Key Responsibilities

Earned Media

  • Secure press coverage in U.S.-based advertising, creative, business, and cultural media

  • Develop and pitch newsworthy narratives that reflect Mojo’s tone, work, and positioning

  • Identify and land speaking opportunities, podcast features, interviews, and other visibility plays

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant, high-impact editors — no generic outreach

  • Explore additional visibility opportunities (e.g., Forbes Council, thought leadership platforms)

  • Write content directly or manage freelance writers — ensuring voice, quality, and impact

Award Submissions

  • Own the full awards process for Cannes Lions, Effies, One Show, Webbys, and others

  • Track deadlines, eligibility, budgets, and entry requirements

  • Gather case materials, data, credits, and visuals with support from internal teams

  • Write or edit submissions — or manage and review freelance writers when necessary

  • Coordinate with a part-time Awards Manager to ensure logistics are handled without delays

Reporting & Tracking

  • Maintain a tracker for outreach, placements, awards, and deliverables

  • Deliver a monthly recap of coverage secured, awards submitted, upcoming priorities, and content status

Expectations

  • Owns PR for the two business

  • Experience placing U.S. press and crafting editorial angles, not just marketing messages

  • Writes and edits with clarity, voice, and taste — or knows how to spot and improve bad writing

  • Operates independently — managing outreach, writers, awards, and reporting without being chased

  • Maintains a high bar for what gets published or submitted — and defends it with confidence

Ideal Candidate Traits

  • Relationship-driven — knows how to find, pitch, and build trust with the right U.S. editors

  • Understands the creative agency world — what wins awards, gets covered, and shapes reputation

  • Strong writing/editorial judgment — can write a great piece or guide someone else to it

  • Highly organized — runs clean trackers, meets every deadline, and communicates progress clearly

  • Self-managed — flags problems early, unblocks themselves, and keeps projects moving

  • Can hire, brief, and quality-check freelance writing talent when needed

  • Has relationships or past placement experience with key U.S. media such as Ad Age, Adweek, Digiday, Fast Company, Business Insider, The Drum, Campaign US
