Senior Marketing Copywriter

Position Overview

The Senior Marketing Copywriter develops a wide range of content for Life Sciences clients based on their corporate style and messaging strategy. Content development will require thorough research on industry-related topics, generating ideas and content origination for projects, and proofreading work to ensure quality.
In-office positions in New York City are preferred. Remote roles in the Eastern Standard Timezone, or the UK, are considered.

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in clients’ subject matter to originate marketing material with technical authority and accuracy.

  • Edit industry-specific original material into appropriate compelling copy relative to the application and audience, achieving client approval.

  • Generate content for digital marketing, web, brochures, sell/tech sheets, video concepts and scripts, advertising, blog posts, thought leadership articles, and other projects.

  • Respond rapidly and proactively to internal feedback or client direction, absorbing this feedback into the project evolution.

  • Organize drafts and ideas into formal documents without spelling or grammatical mistakes. All output must be professionally completed within the company template suitable for external distribution.

  • Present ideas to a group in a focused, concise, and structured way, adapting your style so the audience understands the issues being communicated.

  • Mentor and work with more junior copywriters and contribute to their development.

  • Additional projects relative to a range of creative or content-based projects, as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience within and knowledge of the Life Science industry.

  • Scientific or technical writing experience.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Experience producing marketing content for various tactics within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and broader life sciences.

  • Proven experience conducting subject matter research in complex areas to further understand and use the findings in content development.

  • Comfort working within a team of other writers and strategists, account managers, researchers, designers, and other roles, integrating and compromising effectively on project development to meet each client’s needs and expectations.

  • Previous agency experience is advantageous.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • Science communication qualification or a relevant postgraduate degree is advantageous.
