Reddit Community Manager

We are hiring a Reddit Community Manager responsible for building and growing authentic communities while contributing high-quality, discussion-driven content across multiple subreddits.

This role focuses on two core outcomes:

1. Helping brands participate naturally in the conversations where people research products and make decisions.

2. Building and nurturing communities that people genuinely want to participate in.

This position requires someone who understands Reddit culture deeply, writes in a native voice, and knows how to contribute value without sounding promotional.

This is not a traditional social media role. Reddit rewards authenticity, context, and contribution. Success in this role requires real platform experience and strong instincts for community dynamics.

• This role is not suited for someone whose background is limited to SEO blogging.

• This role is not suited for someone who is not an active Reddit user.

• This role is not suited for a general social media manager who is unfamiliar with Reddit culture.

We are looking for someone who understands Reddit as a community-driven platform and enjoys participating in discussions across a wide range of topics.

Key Responsibilities

• Write discussion-driven posts designed to generate authentic engagement and meaningful conversations

• Participate actively in comment threads across multiple subreddits, adding value while representing client brands responsibly

• Research subreddit culture, rules, tone, and historical discussions before publishing

• Build and grow communities by creating discussions people want to participate in

• Moderate subreddits and maintain healthy, constructive conversations

• Encourage participation and foster relationships with members, moderators, and contributors

• Identify opportunities to participate in relevant conversations across Reddit

• Monitor sentiment, feedback, and moderation signals

• Track engagement trends across posts, comments, and communities

• Maintain consistent output across multiple communities and recurring content cycles

• Collaborate with strategists and account leads to align community activity with client goals

Ideal Profile

This role requires strong writing instinct, community leadership, and operational reliability.

We are looking for candidates who can build trust within communities, contribute naturally to conversations, and maintain consistent quality across multiple subreddits.

The ideal candidate enjoys Reddit as a platform and participates in discussions regularly.

Core Capabilities

• Strong written English with the ability to mirror subreddit tone and culture

• Deep familiarity with Reddit etiquette, moderation risk, and community dynamics

• Proven experience contributing to or growing online communities

• Ability to write authentic, engaging content that encourages discussion

• Strong research ability across unfamiliar industries and communities

• Ability to follow structured workflows and operate independently

• High ownership and accountability in remote work environments

• Consistent output across multiple threads, discussions, and communities

• Experience managing anonymous or brand-affiliated Reddit profiles

• Ability to build relationships with moderators and community members

Education

Formal degrees are not required.

Demonstrated Reddit experience, community participation, and writing ability are far more important than academic background.
