About the opportunity

As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be handling order requests from various parts of the organization. You will be required to ensure orders are done in an organized, responsible and timely manner and that standards and specifications are carefully adhered to. Although this position is part of the Supply Chain Office, you will be accountable to assist the Finance department and expected to participate in routine month end reporting.

This role is approximately 95% remote based in Canada or the US with 5% travel. Since in-person interaction may be a part of your duties, we require that you are fully vaccinated and boosted against the COVID-19 virus. Proof of vaccination and CDC recommended boosters will be required.

Job Duties:

Stewarding assigned orders through their lifecycle (Request, Approval, Confirmed, Shipped, Tracked, Received, Approved)
Assist with Renewals Management of existing and new commitments
Participate in any finance required duties that may be required such as budget planning, accruals, fixed assets, reporting, etc.
Comfortable with order corrections, change-orders, issues, supplier customer concerns that may arise (eg. ETA passed, missing goods, etc.)
Maintaining strong Customer & Vendor relations critical to role, communication & service excellence are essential
Other responsibilities as the position evolves.

A bit about you:

2-3 years purchasing or supply chain management or related experience.
Ability to learn steps and follow instructions then perform steps consistently.
Strong aptitude for resourceful & creative thinking in dealing with sourcing issues.
Prior experience with cost analysis.
Ability to interact with both technical resources and sales professionals
Comfortable in both Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets spreadsheet applications
Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
Works well independently & as part of a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good listening and customer management skills
Positive minded demeanor, friendly disposition
Be an agent of change for improved processes

The base salary range for this position is $52,110 - $57,000. Range shown in $USD for US residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
