Vitalize exists to improve the mental health of healthcare workers.

Burnout in healthcare is at an all-time high - today over 60% of healthcare workers face burnout, and nearly 40% are planning to leave their jobs in the next two years alone. The impact of this is massive, costing our healthcare system $60 billion annually. There hasn't been a better time to be building for healthcare workers.

We are building the go-to mental health platform for the healthcare workforce. We offer a virtual mental health coaching service complemented by text-based peer support and on-demand content, all while providing robust analytics on staff mental health trends to employers. Healthcare workers face unique sets of challenges - working extremely long hours, seeing grief and death on a daily basis, and so much more. Mental health for this user population requires a tailored approach, and Vitalize provides this.

We are launching to our first health system of 2000+ healthcare workers in January 2023. We are backed by great investors including YCombinator, StartupHealth, Dorm Room Fund, and founders of top digital health startups. This role is an opportunity to join an early-stage startup as one of the first employees and directly impact how our team builds and ships product.

• $110-180K

• 1.00-2.00% equity

⚡️ As a Founding Engineer, you’ll…

• work directly with the founders and users to define the product and engineering roadmap

• interface with health systems, clinicians, digital health companies, and more to iterate on our product and ensure it serves our customers + users well as we scale

• own and ship product features from inception to implementation

• build exceptional user experiences that allow healthcare workers to take control of their mental health journey

• mentor engineers and others around you to build a culture of technical excellence as the team grows

🤝 We're looking for people that are

• rockstar engineers who are builders at heart— you loves to write and ship code

• Skilled with Node.js, Express, React, React Native, MongoDB, AWS, and Docker

• 3+ years of software engineering experience

• computing or related degree, bootcamp, or equivalent work experience

• innately curious and willing to build a deeper understanding of underlying problems

• passionate about building technology for social impact

🙌  Bonus Points

• cares about product design and UX/UI

• comfortable with the ambiguity of working at an early stage startup. you love to move fast and solve pervasive and challenging technical problems. maybe you were a previous founder or early employee at a startup

• experience and/or exposure to the healthcare system
