Operations & Event Support Specialist

The Impact Operations Team at AnitaB.org supports the Individual and Institutional Impact Teams which includes Events and Content, by providing Operations and Logistics, Impact Insights, Customer Service and Sponsor Fulfillment Services. We develop and implement operational strategies that ensure the successful delivery of our products and contribute to the growth and impact of AnitaB.org. As Operations & Events Support Specialist, you will be supporting the planning, operations, and production of key events, including the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), the world’s largest conference for women and non-binary technologists. You will report to the Head of Impact Operations and will provide support across multiple aspects of our event operations. You will also support and manage specific aspects of our events, such as Networking, Receptions, Attendee Activations and Off-site events.

Here's what you'll do  

  • Support event operations, logistics and event platforms, working with the Head of Impact Operations and other Impact Team members, internal cross-functional teams, and external vendors.

  • Contribute to the successful execution of GHC as well as other AnitaB.org events, by leading and managing assigned projects. Projects include but are not limited to Attendee Networking, Receptions, Activations, Lounges, Expo and Career Fair, Accommodation & Travel, in-person as well as virtual.

  • Monitor and track the progress of internal and external partners as needed for the successful execution of assigned tasks and projects. Partners include Event Management Company, AV provider, catering, staffing, transport, shipping, accommodation, and other vendors.

  • Collaborate across departments on assigned projects and workstreams.

  • Monitor and manage the budgets and timelines for assigned projects and workstreams.

  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Here's what we hope you'll bring 

  • Professionalism in team and external stakeholder interactions and communications, including honesty, integrity, respect, and commitment to advancing global, regional, and local DEI, in keeping with an organization with a mission to promote women and non-binary diversity, equity and inclusion in society and the workplace.

  • 3+ years of event planning/operations/management experience with both in person and virtual events.

  • Excellent organizational, time and project management skills; ability to multi-task, meet multiple deadlines and deliverables simultaneously, as well as keep contributors on task.

  • Solid understanding of project management principles & tools.

  • Experience working with multiple vendors.

  • Understanding of all aspects of events: platforms, registration, operations, production, content.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.

  • Enthusiastic about learning and using new technology.

  • Experience preparing and leading meetings with internal & external stakeholders.

  • Ability to travel as position requires.

AnitaB.org is proud to offer a remote, distributed workplace. Please know we cannot accommodate remote work outside of the United States. The salary range for this position is $64,900 - $67,140, plus competitive benefits, including health insurance and a 403(b) discretionary match.
