Head of People Operations

Why do we need you? Well, we are looking for a Head of People Operations who will bring excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, an impressive track record of successful project management, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. You will report to the Head of People and will be responsible for leading the People Operations team by continuing to build and improve people processes, ensure Calendly’s compliance with various HR regulations, and lead a variety of initiatives to improve the employee experience and the People team’s effectiveness.

A day in the life of a Head of People Operations at Calendly

On a typical day, you will be working on: 

  • Lead the People Operations function, including coaching and development of the team.

  • Manage and continuously improve the employee lifecycle experience, including onboarding, offboarding, and reorgs.

  • Own People analytics, including the collection and analysis of data from a variety of sources, identification of key metrics and actionable trends and patterns, and delivery of recommendations for programs and activities to improve upon the findings. 

  • Partner closely with People Business Partners to support new People initiatives, policy changes, and handle tier 1 employee relations issues.

  • Manage Calendly’s semi-annual Performance Review process. 

  • Oversee training compliance platform and ensure all employees complete required training. 

  • Evaluate current People processes to identify areas for improvement and champion new ways to advance our People experience.

  • Own and maintain federal, state, and local HR compliance, People policies, Handbook, Code of Conduct, and internal/external audits.

  • Collaborate with IT, Procurement, and Talent Acquisition on onboarding and offboarding contingent workforce. 

  • Lead large People projects and initiatives, and draft and plan out all related communications and project managing stakeholders

  • Ad hoc People projects as needed.

What do we need from you?

  • 12+ years of experience in People Operations; 4 years of experience leading a team.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in HR compliance, including EEO-1 reporting, SOC audits, Business Enterprise Research and Development Survey, and required compliance trainings.

  • Proficiency in Workday Core and Analytics.

  • A keen understanding of the business’ strategy, providing dynamic solutions using experience, data analyses, and organizational agility to guide decision making.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including GSheets.

  • Authorized to work lawfully in the United States as Calendly does not sponsor non-US eligible employment at this time.

The ranges listed below are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change.

Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee’s starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity.

Base salary is just one component of Calendly’s total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for our Quarterly Corporate Bonus program (or Sales incentive), equity awards, and competitive benefits.

Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows:

  • Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY

  • Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA.

  • Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2

Tier 1 Salary

$188,800—$255,200 USD

Tier 2 Salary

$173,000—$234,000 USD

Tier 3 Salary

$157,300—$212,700 USD
