DevSecOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) Program at USCIS.  The ICAM Program deploys agile development strategies during the development, testing, and Quality Assurance process to provide the highest quality ICAM solutions to its USCIS and other Government business owners.

The DevSecOps Engineer will work closely with development teams and technical leaders to review processes, activities, communication channels, metrics and other key artifacts to document processes, update and change processes to facilitate standardization and gain efficiencies. You will be expected to leverage your technical and functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing DevSecOps solutions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with operations, security, and development teams throughout the application development and code deployment lifecycle. 

  • Serve as engineering resource for agile application development teams of 6-10 team members, for deployments and DevSecOps lead for managing the server and system infrastructure, including physical and cloud servers. 

  • Perform zero-downtime deployments using CI/CD pipelines.

  • Assist with release planning and test operations.

  • Adhere to DevOps practices and behaviors and support continuous improvement throughout the agile delivery process.

  • Document DevSecOps processes, dependencies, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Manage and maintain build and deployment pipelines

  • Work with DevSecOps engineers from across the program to optimize capabilities and standardize approaches

Position Requirements: 

  • US Citizenship

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • >7 years relevant experience working in application development and deployment through multiple environments (e.g., DEV, TEST, PROD) in a professional environment.

  • Demonstrate experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with understanding of CI/CD concepts, methodologies, and practices.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, also Azure).

  • Experience with Jenkins, Gradle, SonarQube, Nexus, Chef, and other application build and deploy technologies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement.

  • Process Improvement.

  • Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.

  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 Vaccination or have accommodation documents completed by the date of hire to be considered.  Proof of vaccination is required.
