Marketing Manager

Overview

The Marketing Manager applies knowledge, expertise, and experience to create relevant, innovative marketing content and programs for customers, prospects, vendors, and internal audiences designed to drive demand and awareness of our offerings, for the assigned segment(s). The Marketing Manager determines the appropriate mediums for programs and messages to support the marketing strategy and executes timely delivery of all projects and programs. They will work on multiple projects ranging from short communications to complex projects and integrated communication plans designed to focus on specific target markets. They will also collaborate with product managers in defining, creating, and implementing sales training and customer-facing product promotional materials. The position will be responsible for new product and/or service launches and will create a strategic plan to achieve a successful and sustained lead generation for all assigned business segments. This role provides inputs on the marketing strategy and develops and executes the tactical plan to achieve the desired outcomes.

This role is also responsible to monitor metrics of tactics effectiveness and recommends/executes any necessary alterations. The successful candidate will participate in cross-functional integrated processes with leadership, colleagues from teams such as (but not limited to) Marketing, Research & Development, Scientific Affairs, Lab Services, Informatics, Product Management, Business Intelligence, Sales, Sales Enablement and Regulatory Affairs. The ideal candidate has experience developing strategies and marketing plans specifically in a regulated healthcare sector, life science or infectious disease field or related area. Ideally, they have specific experience understanding the developing landscape in the assigned field including a strong understanding of the market, the care guidelines, KOL's influencing the space as well as key industry trends. They have experience targeting specific key customer audiences, with compelling programs (including science-based outreach) designed to drive lead generation and revenue growth.

Snapshot of Responsibilities:

  • Support various sales channels, as assigned, such as retail, distribution, public health, HCPs, pharmacists, laboratories, third party administrators, industry/professional associations, research, and academia.

  • Review of industry, US and global, to identify and understand trends and shifts in the market and to identify new prospects, and new market opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate pulse on competitive activity within target channels/markets such as landscape, positioning, and messaging, and be able to respond/adapt with urgency when needed, specifically being able to assess OraSure capabilities against competitors

  • Provide feedback into product development and collaborate to create, launch, and track performance of product and service offerings in our markets

  • Work with Sr. marketing manager to use market and customer insights to inform and develop the marketing strategies and annual marketing plan for the portfolio and targeted channels.

  • Develop and align annual targeted marketing plan with yearly business goals, revenue budgets, and allocated marketing funds.

  • Work with Sr. marketing manager, product management team and sales leadership to develop the targeted marketing plan that promotes the portfolio and leverages other company offerings to drive growth in existing accounts through cross-selling, where appropriate.

  • Optimize and develop sales tools and product positioning by market (e.g., competitive positioning, values, and benefits statements, including evidence required to support)

  • Manage the development of highly effective advertising and marketing campaigns across multiple channels and creative formats (email, website, social media, webinars etc.) and target audience segments.

  • Develop and drive campaign management in alignment with budget allocations, to maximize awareness, lead generation and client acquisition programs across multiple channels.

  • Work with the appropriate sales teams regarding planning and execution of marketing deliverables to maximize lead generation, thought leadership and demand for products / services.

  • Work with cross functional team to create content for marketing collateral and other market specific sales support materials (web content, data sheets, FAQ, qualifying tools, RFP responses, advertorials, blog content nurture campaign content) and manage the workflow from concept to regulatory approval in accordance with established procedures.

  • Collaborate cross functionally to train sales and channel partner sales force(s) regarding products, messaging, target markets/audiences.

  • Work with the digital marketing team to deploy campaigns and measure KPI’s including the acquisition, retention, and development of target customers, including lead generation, nurturing, and marketing analytics and ROI to improve the effectiveness of current/future initiatives.

  • Work with the web development team and our channel partners to analyze web content and traffic to make recommendations for SEO improvements, including updates to outdated content.

  • Develop strategic plan and presence for relevant tradeshows and industry events. Travel as required for tradeshows, industry, and partner meetings.

  • Responsible for all aspects of product marketing, including meeting deadlines, time management, contingency planning, approval channels and procedures, budgeting, campaign analysis, and tracking / monitoring outcomes

  • Establish and articulate project scope, strategy, and objectives (including KPIs) to internal clients, production team and key leadership.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or the Sciences is required

  • Job experience in the DIAGNOSTICS and/or LIFE SCIENCES industries is required

  • 4+ years related work experience in a marketing or product marketing role

  • Advanced computer literacy skills particularly with MS Office and online applications.

  • Experience driving marketing programs and business innovation.

  • Experience working in highly matrixed, complex organization with aggressive goals and timelines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to interact with scientific community, customers, channel partners.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Strong time management, project management, and organizational skills with experience working in a deadline driven work environment and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (listening, copywriting, proofreading and presenting) and the ability to clearly ad convincingly present and position ideas and concepts.

  • A strong attention to detail, demonstrated creativity and a sense of ownership for projects.

  • Strong analytical skills to analyze marketing trends and make content recommendations that deliver on engagement metrics.

  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid collaboration and communication skills.

  • Travel throughout the U.S. and occasionally internationally.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $75,000 - $129,000 USD. In addition to base salary this position is eligible for participation in our annual bonus program. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the position, based on our defined salary pay ranges. Our ranges are broad to account for differences in roles, performance, experience, skillsets, education and business needs and individual pay is determined by a variety of factors.
