Business Development Representative
Federato is on a mission to defend the right to efficient, equitable insurance for all. Federato’s AI/ML-driven platform leverages deep reinforcement learning to help insurance companies optimize the portfolio of risks they insure, allowing them to continue to provide fair and equitable pricing in difficult-to-price areas. Our category-defining ‘RiskOps’ solution drives better underwriting decisions by operationalizing underutilized data investments and surfacing real-time risk and portfolio insights. We focus on putting insurance underwriters back in the driver’s seat, helping them meet their goals while providing an important service to society.
The BDR at Federato will target the most strategic prospects in our domain, which include both the largest insurance carriers in the world and the most innovative insurtech startups in the industry. This is a very high-impact role with a focus on the accounts that represent strategic growth for Federato. At Federato, we expect you to create highly tailored and unique experiences for our strategic prospects. You’ll have the ability to use your creativity within an engaging team, working in tandem with account-based marketing to be the tip of the spear for our go-to-market motion.
What You'll Do
Development of systems & data flows that help us track key accounts
Continuous monitoring of news, changes, announcements, etc. that may lead to new opportunities.
Detailed account mapping of people/networks at the target accounts
Long-term relationship building with key contacts
Achieving this level of sophistication in our approach to key accounts requires strategic business development – a full-time role that partners closely with the Strategic Account Executives to foster these opportunities.
Leads nurture campaigns post-event with strategic named targets and uncovers opportunities for Strategic Account Executives to build relationships.
Who We Hope You Are

Leads with curiosity to find unique ways to break into large complex accounts that are relationship-based.
Loves researching organizations, mapping out the people, getting in the mind of the people there, and setting up thoughtful outreach with them.
Very organized. High emphasis on systems, tools, data to scale up the work. Very detailed about tool use (CRM, etc.)
Experienced in leveraging sales overlay tools (6Sense, Zoominfo, Apollo) to maximize prospecting output and overall conversion.
Highly collaborative internally. Knows how to navigate the org, find the information they need, and turn it into useful prospecting tools.
$50,000 - $80,000 a year
This role is eligible for base + commission compensation. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above. Total compensation package does include stock options, benefits and additional perks.
